Slow stitching for Sunday...

I last shared my progress on Robin Lane about two weeks ago, and I had a lot of leaves and flowers to embroider, and wasn't really looking forward to them!  But I persevered (wink!) and it is now completely finished.  It turns out they weren't as tedious to stitch up as I thought they would be and I love the finished look of Robin Lane!

Time to figure out a patchwork finish for this robin!

Meanwhile, I had to trace something new to work on, and I chose the May 2023 One Stitch at a Time Club design - "Schoolhouse Sampler."

From the website:

And my work so far:

This one is challenging me with some new stitches -
cable chain, feather stitch,  and herringbone stitch were all unfamiliar to me.

Fortunately, I found a resource that has given me good directions and pictures to follow.  The feather stitch took a little bit to get the hang of, but if you look at the C and O in the photo above, I think I've got it!

Very pretty Diann. I've tried a little embroidery lately, getting my stitches even has been the challenge - probably don't do enough of it!

Robin Lane is adorable! I like the schoolhouse sampler. I think it is fun to learn new stitches but it takes a while until they feel natural. Happy Mother's day and have a great Sunday!

that feather stitch is nice - I have a small book somewhere with all the embroidery stitches I was using it some years back for something - I don't remember for what now!

The 'Robin Lane' piece is darling. I know all about the 'it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be' phase of a project! Kudos to you for powering through the multitude of leaves!

And the new project with new stitches looks like it's coming along very well, too!

You are branching out with the new stitches and the project looks wonderful as does your Robin Lane.

Beautiful finish! I traced out a number of Kathy's designs too last week, but decided I really want to finish up that Gathered Blessings, plus I have another secret project that involves embroidery I am working on. Happy stitching, and Happy Mother's Day!

Your little robin is lovely and your satin stitch leaves are so neat. I’m hopeless at satin stitch. It was really worth the effort!

Robin Lane is very pretty. Do you plan to finish it as a little wall hanging surrounded by patchwork?

All those leaves and flowers surrounding the sweet robin are lovely, Diann. Such a charming, embroidered pretty you have finished. The Schoolhouse Sampler is off to a great start. Love the feather stitch C and O. How fun to learn new embroidery stitches.

I’m so glad you persevered as your project came out so lovely! Your Schoolhouse Sampler is lovely and wow! Your “O” came out so pretty!

You did really well on those leaves, and I so love the green and pink. Good luck picking out a patchwork finish. That schoolhouse is just perfect for you! Thanks for the link to the stitches - I have a lot of trouble finding a good source to clearly show how to do certain stitches.

I didn't even notice that the C and O were stitched differently. I think you did a great job. The feather stitch is not an easy one to keep consistent but, yes, I do believe you've got it! Good job!

I'm amazed at how neat and lovely your stitches are. That feather stitch would take some thinkin' for me! You've got the hang of it, though!
