A finish and a new start!

Earlier this week I finished up the "Robin Lane" design that I'd been working on recently.  Last week I shared the green border I picked for it and the pink backing.  This week, I did some simple quilting, and finished it off with a pale pink binding.

Now it's hanging on the side of my fridge
where I enjoy displaying little seasonal pieces.

I couldn't go very long without prepping another embroidery design to work on, and since there's been a lot of planting and watering going on at our house the last couple of weeks, I found the perfect one!

This is "For Every Season," another Kathy Schmitz design - find it HERE on her website.
I'm going to enjoy lots of slow stitching on this one!

Sharing at Kathy's Quilts for Slow Sunday Stitching.

Pretty stitching designs. Thanks for the link to the pattern.
Now I'm curious, do you colour-in the design before or after stitching?

I love the garden theme in your embroideries ! Great idea to display the robin on the side of your fridge…makes you happy to see it every time you walk by. Gail at the Cozy Quilter

Speaking of hanging, those lizards/geckos have me convinced that hanging by your fridge is the best life!

I think this might be my favorite of your embroidery finishes! It's so pretty, I love the colors and your border and binding fabrics just frame it perfectly. That's a cute one you've started too. I had not thought of using our fridge as a place to display needlework - what a great idea!

pretty stitchery - do you use colored pencils for the background?

Cute, cute! Are the color sections printed on the fabric, or did you do that?

That wheelbarrow is going to be so cute when it's done.

Great finish! I haven't colored any of my embroideries yet, but I got the substance to set the colors.

What a beautiful finish and a great start. I'd be curious on how you are getting the colors in there. It really makes the stitches pop.

Such a pretty finish Robin Lane is, Diann. And you have started another sweet stitchery. As you stitch the pots in the wheelbarrow you can watch the garden grow outside your window.

Very pretty stitching Diann. So, I'm wondering too, how do you get the colour on? Before or after the embroidery!? Is it paint of other fabric?

Both the start and the finish are adorable. I like the idea of hanging a mini on your fridge.
