switched back and forth between two projects. I continued on with "Needle Love," a design by Kathy Schmitz. This has been so enjoyable in the variegated blue. I used the wagon wheel stitch for the large round flowers instead of pieces of felted wool that are called for in the directions.
I also started the Sunflower Sampler from Melisa at PinkernPunkin Quilting. You know, I couldn't resist! I've just started on the alphabet section, but what drew me to it is the sunflowers! See Melisa's post about it here.
So for my Slow Sunday Stitching with Kathy and friends at Kathy's Quilts today, I have choices, and that's always good!

What a special piece that sampler is turning out to be!I like that you used the wagon wheel stitch to make the flowers instead of using wool! Melisa has the sweetest patterns. It is easy to want to stitch every one!
Your stitching is always lovely! And the blue variegated thread is perfect.
Love the blue wagon wheel stitches. That was a great idea. And Melisa does have the best patterns! Hope you are enjoying your weekend.
Such a sweet project, I like that variegated blue too.
your slow stitching is pretty. I hope I have a nice relaxing day and get some more of my binding done!
Both of your pieces are lovely, I love the use of variegated floss it brings such a dimension to the stitches.
I went right to Melissa's post and downloaded that Sunflower Sampler. Thanks for the link. Your stitching is looking great! I like the wagon wheel stitched flowers and the variegated floss.
I find cross-stitching in the summer so enjoyable. Maybe because it's lightweight & portable. Your projects are very pretty. And look at you! Getting all professional and using fancy stitches instead of the called-for-wool! 😘
Needle and Thread is looking amazing, Diann. Isn't embroidery so relaxing? I am so very grateful that you are stitching the Sunflower Sampler. I started mine last night. It is so exciting to see your progress. I hope you enjoy this little stitch. Have a wonderful day and thank you. Hugs.
I like your use of the wagon wheel stitch. I would probably love the Sunflower Sampler, but not much into cross stitch! Hope you have a great week!
I agree with the others. I think you did a great job on the wagon wheel stitch instead of using wool. Wool is good too, but sometimes difficult to find. I had downloaded the sunflower sampler, but need to decide on a fabric. Want to start soon.
Pretty stitching, and you are using fancy stitches I've never heard of!
Your embroidery is stunning! I stitched Melisa's Mini Sunflower Sampler as well. I'm hoping to fully finish it into a pillow tonight...it was suppose to happen over the weekend.
So cute! And that Sunflower will be adorable. I might have to go back to May and get the bee one.
Sew/so very fun projects! Love the variegated Needle Love!
