This and That

I've been playing with a little of this and a little of that in the sewing room this week.  First I finished up the last hand-pieced plus block for yellow month.

Here's how that group of blocks is looking now with red, aqua, and yellow all together.

Added Saturday afternoon:  a few leftover yellow squares were stitched into a small patchwork piece, and I have it ready to add some quilting stitches for my Slow Sunday Stitching with Kathy's Quilts.

I played some more with the Dutch fabrics that my friend gave me, and made enough Spiny Peaks blocks for a table runner.

In my SAHRR wallhanging, I used mostly reds and blues, but in this one there are all colors from pink, red, and orange, to dark and light blue, some cream and off-white, and this pretty mustard yellow.  I would never have said I like mustard yellow, but I really like this!

And one small finish this week - some yellow cloth napkins for March.  These are made out of a banana print which I love!  So bright and fun!

I use two fat quarters to make these, and it took me awhile to find the right one to go with the bananas for the reverse side of the napkin.  But this works!

It's been a fun week working on a little of this and a little of that!

Those text backgrounds look so good with yellows, and I LOVE your plus quilt. Cute placemats! I have that same gray background with yellow you used with that cute banana print. I printed out the pattern for the spiny peaks and it is waiting patiently on my cutting table - lol! That mustard yellow print is beautiful.
Hope you have a great weekend!

I'm thinking I should make some nakinds for our table. Much better than to use up paper napkins. Everything is wonderful!! So sunny.

I know what you mean, and I've heard it in a few places this week, how just making, playing is good. For our soul and spirit I will add. I love all the projects, but oh, your hand-stitched plus blocks are wonderful!

Your RSC Cross quilt is going to be really fun. I like the offset rows. The banana napkins are really bright and fun. Congrats on all the progress and on using up some of those odds and ends in so many projects.

The banana print for a napkin is such a fun idea. Love the Ukrainian sunflower piece as part of the table setting. The cross blocks are so much more interesting staggered as you have set them.
