Slow stitching this week...

Back in February, Jenny of Elefantz shared this sweet design for an embroidery that I decided to save until I had time to trace it out and stitch it up.  I finally got to it this week, and by Friday evening it was almost finished.

Her design showed a bit of fabric appliqued in place for the pot that the plant is growing out of, so I did that, too, and yesterday stitched it down with a blanket stitch using my favorite variegated blue floss.

There's lots of that marbly blue left, so I think I'll use it to frame the embroidery and finish this off into a little mini wall-hanging for a friend for her birthday in May.

I've also been hand-piecing plus blocks in yellow for one of my Rainbow Scrap Challenge projects this week, and have finished three of them so far.   #4 is prepped for today's slow stitching.

We've gone from Spring-like weather back to winter and snow this weekend,
so I think this will be the only sun I see today!

Sharing at Kathy's Quilts for Slow Sunday Stitching.

What a pretty little piece. You are really fast on your embroidery! I think the marbly blue will make the perfect frame. We've been having fake spring with high 70s and are due a cold front tonight. Have fun stitching today!

So pretty! I was amazed how the look changed once you added the blue vase... great idea to use the blanket stitch on the edge! Jenny is a wonderful designer!

Cute hand embroidery project. I finished another snowman Friday night. So I need to get another ready. We got back into another windy stretch, but still fairly warm.

We've been stuck in cold, gloomy weather for several days. Today it is raining. A perfect day to stay inside and stitch. Your blocks are very pretty and I love your embroidery.

That lovely little stitchery will make a delightful gift for your friend. We got up to 72 degrees today, but the wind was really ripping. I did get out for a nice long walk.

Pretty embroidery, and as always, I love those simple plus blocks. I may have to file this idea away for next years RSC.
