To-Do Tuesday #175

It's been a good week for getting things done here in my neck of the woods.  We've even had some Spring-like weather (thank you, Mother Nature!) and got outside for some yard cleanup!

I had two "adulting" things on my list:

  • a meeting about my mom's care and progress.  ✅️  I learned a lot and felt very encouraged, too.  In fact, today there was a call from her rehab center telling me that they have a few more Occupational Therapy tasks to work on, but they think she might be able to go home next week!
Up and walking!

  • Get my first Shingles shot.  ✅️  Done and not too bad of a reaction to it either!
In the sewing room, I had two finishes and am happy with each one!

After two finishes, I often have a tendency to jump into multiple projects, just because they sound fun and it feels like a reward to start something new!  Things I worked on this week include:
  • Several crumb blocks for a project I'll be able to share later this year.  Crumb blocks make great leaders and enders so I figured I might as well get started!

  • Getting started with my purple scraps for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge color of the month for April.

On this week's to-do list:
What's on your list this week?
Sharing at Quilt Schmilt for To-Do Tuesday.

Good to see your Mom up on her feet and doing so well, a big relief I'm sure. I love your Dancing Pluses and the March table scraps. You've achieved a lot.

Beautiful finishes, Diann, I absolutely love your rainbow Dancing Pluses, and all those crumb blocks are looking pretty good together.

Mom is looking quite spiffy! I tend to jump into new stuff, too, after finishing a project when I should really move on to another UFO.

What a good encouraging report on our mom!! Working on something new is always so much fun, perhaps that is why we all start so many things, LOL. Since purple is my favorite color it is going to be so much fun seeing all the purple fabric in your projects.

That photo of your Mom is so encouraging! Good for her for doing the work. She looks like such a doll. You always make such cute crumb blocks. Congratulations on your finishes and new starts. Glad you are getting some spring weather. We've gone from winter straight into summer - 90 degrees yesterday - ugh!

Great news about your Mom. I hope her therapy continues to go well and she gets to go home next week. You had some really nice starts after the two finishes. How do you organize crumb blocks for leader/enders? I struggle with working on two quilt projects at the same time but would love to figure it out. I think I'd get more accomplished.

Great photo of your mom! Good news about possibly “going home”. Crumb blocks do make good Leaders and Enders, just a bit messy at messy, I find. I finished my current L&E project, so I’m doing the same til I get organized. Or maybe I won’t start another! So many starts, so little progress! Are you planning rainbow houses for your neighborhood.?

Congratulations on your finishes! Aren't bow tie blocks fun to make? Can't wait to see your quilt. Your mom looks great. Rehab is a good thing, but I'm sure she is ready to come home too.

So fun to see your beautiful mom with a smile on her face, and how encouraging that she may soon be able to move back home! You have more fun blocks in the works, and two great finishes! Good to hear you din't have too much of a reaction to the shingles vac, too.

Hi Diann! What a wonderful picture of your Mom!! I can see the resemblance where you favor her. That's fabulous news about potentially going home next week. Your churn dash block looks so fun - just perfect colors. Good luck this week and Happy Easter! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Oh yay! Prayers that Mom gets to come home soon! Congrats on the finishes! I'm feeling the need to maybe try some crumb work (no I've never done it) but I want to empty out my scrap jars!

Such a delight to see your mother up and walking. Wouldn't it be wonderful if she could go home for Easter. I love your purple bow ties. And three cheers for spring-like weather. We've bounced up and down for weeks, but I have been able to do some garden cleanup in between the cold, wind and rain.

Judging by the look on your mother's face, I'd say your Mom is just as excited about going home as you! You got lots done and everything looks good. I'd love to find some time to help Cynthia too. Thankfully we have until the end of May because April is just about full. Hope your day is great!

So great to see your Mom is doing so much better Diann. Congrats on getting two finishes last week. I love your purple RSC blocks. Did you get your Neignborhood Block done? I’ve got as far as cutting my fabrics. Thank you for linking with To Do Tuesday. Glad you didn’t react to the vaccine and have been having another great week.
