This past weekend we visited our younger son who lives in a small town in Kansas. We drove around looking at Christmas lights on Saturday evening - and I love Christmas lights! A car dealership in town had held a decorating contest, and my son helped judge for the winners. Here's his front page this week announcing the winners. They were amazing!
We also went to see the latest Star Wars movie with our son and really enjoyed it!
Christmas Eve was spent with my sister and her family, and my mom who is here from Arizona. It was so good to see them! I have to get lots of dog love at my sister's house, because we don't have a dog anymore. They have three!
Love these sweet guys!
My favorite Christmas present from Mike, who knows what I like!
Lots of fun embroidery projects for the new year.
My holiday wish for you!
Have a wonderful last week of 2019! Be sure to visit the other "I Like Thursday" bloggers over at LeeAnna's place, Not Afraid of Color.
I had heard mixed reviews for the newest Star Wars movie but now you and my nephew have both seen it this week and say it is good - we just might have to see it I guess! glad you had good family time. The book looks good
I'm with Karen above, heard mixed reviews on Star Wars. Glad you enjoyed it. Your embroidery book looks scrumptious. I've seen a few excerpts ... I think you'll enjoy it all next year!
Sounds like a wonderful holiday and I bet you will love that Gail Pan book! whooo hoooo! Have a great week Diann! Happy New Year!
We used to have a lighting contest here too. So I had to check out the photos a little closer, just look at that old pickup decorated up! Glad to know you will be stitching for other holidays too!!
I bet Mike had a little nudge on that gift idea! Glad you had happy time with family. We're having a good time with the young'uns, too.
Looks like a fun book! We watched Christmas movies all day yesterday, enjoying the tree and just having a relaxing day.
Well, I had to watch The Christmas Story a bazillion times since we were at my parents' house and my Dad watches the non-stop 24 hour replay of it ALL. DAY. LONG! OMG I hate that movie. LOL! And not even a sighting of Die Hard, the best Christmas movie of all!
Family, sweet puppy kisses and book a stitching fun. Sounds like a wonderful holiday!!
My two kids are hoping to go see Star Wars today. We watched both of the new Jumanji movies this year, one at home and one in the theater. They are quite funny, so a good time was had by all. That pattern book definitely looks right up your alley - will be fun to see what you stitch up first!
thanks for all the good wishes--Merry Christmas..lovely lights in that contest...hugs, Julierose
I'm glad the visit to this son didn't get snowed out. I'm sure you're going to enjoy that Gail Pan book. I didn't put any quilt books on my wishlist this year because I have too many already, but I have seen a few I'd really like. Happy New Year.
Sounds like an awesome Christmas, made better with some puppy love. I love driving around and seeing lights. What great sentiment.
Aha! your dog fix looks a little like my guinea pig fix. :-) I love Christmas lights - those are impressive displays. How nice to get presents you like.
Hi Diann! Aww, what a sweet wish for your readers. I wish the same for you, my friend. I SO enjoyed the photo of you getting some doggy love. They're the best. And your son lives in Goodland, Kansas?! My mother's maiden name was Goodland - her grandfather was the Governor/Senator of Wisconsin. I suspect there is some connection with this town but cannot recall the story easily. I'll have to do some research. I'm so glad you had a wonderful time with your son! ~smile~ Roseanne
I love your "wish" for us! I'm so glad you had a happy holiday with your family and that you got a great gift. Would you believe I ordered an e-book of "Snowflakes" by Mary Corbet to embroidery ornaments for next year? When am I going to have time to quilt - lol. We've been enjoying doggy love here too with our daughter's two big dogs along with our big dog!
That Mike, he's a keeper, Diann! I love that book too. I also love that photo of you with the doggies. Nothing better than being around family this time of years...the pups are a special treat. Kudos to your son for the page he coalated...stunning lights. And I think I can tick off most of the things in your wish list as already done for me. Anyway, enjoy every minute now of whatever else the holiday brings you and Mike.
awe, beautiful from start to finish. I love your warm kind way. Great book from your dh, and quote at the end sums up the real comfort in simple pleasures. The pic of you in dog swirl is so cute.
