Red for February!

Don't you think red is the perfect color for February sewing?  I even found a red with hearts on it that I have used in several projects lately.  I actually made a red heart back in December (probably because I was sewing with Christmas reds back then), but this week I did make some 4 patches for the alternate block.

So, here are the red blocks for February for the Scrappy Hearts quilt -

And all the blocks so far.  I also made the blue heart back in December when I was just playing with the quilt idea.

This week I've also been quilting on Rainbow Bowties.  Not done yet, but moving right along!  I've quilted all the longest sections that criss-cross from the center out to the corners, and now working on finishing out the corner sections.  The bottom left is done.

You are way ahead of me with your RSC blocks…I have not finished my green blocks yet! The hearts and four patches blocks are a fun way to use up your scraps. I like the way you are quilting the bow ties quilt. Gail at the cozy quilter

Those red blocks are really pretty, love the darker red in that heart. I can see the progress on your bowtie quilt, nice! I couldn't find any post on Angela's blog announcing the color for February, so this is good to know!

I like your hearts! Now that your longest lines are done on the bowties, the rest will hum right along.

Love your heart blocks and the other blocks too. Pretty Rainbow Bowties quilt, not much left to do before it's finished!

You definitely made the right call to do a heart block quilt for RSC this year, it's going to be darling. It's making me itch to make one too!

The alternate blocks really set off the hearts!

That alternate block with the hearts is terrific. It sets off the heart really well! I like the interest the blue alternate block provides. Of course, I drooled over all your red fabrics! Those were the perfect candidates to stitch this month!

Oh! I love where you are heading with the heart blocks! It will make a cheerful quilt. You will have the bowtie's quilting done in no time now that the longest lines are done. Enjoy! ;^)
