I've worked on several different projects during my evening slow stitching time this week. First, I finished up the embroidery on Bless Our Home. There wasn't much left to do on this one. Then I spent a little time adding a churn dash border just for fun.
This week I'm planning to get this finished up so I can send it off to my friends who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.
I also worked on a little wool penny rug as a part of Autumn Jubilee at From My Carolina Home. Carole's example shows bigger buttons, but these little tiny yellow buttons were what I had in my button box. Looking at the photo now, I'm thinking each group of two might need one more button.
There's more to do on this little project, but the final directions aren't out yet.
Another project that has gotten some stitches is the Halloween Jar designed by Melisa at PinkernPunkin Quilting. Can you tell there's a jack-o-lantern at the bottom? I'm just getting started on him!
I guess there are plenty of things to work on for today's slow stitching! What are you working on?

I love the churn dash border on your embroidery. You do beautiful work. I agree with adding the third button to the apple piece . What a fun cross stitch project for October! Enjoy your stitching.

So clever of you to use the churn dash as a frame! I do agree with you about the yellow buttons--they are really cute but a third might be better. Good projects Diann!
I like your little yellow buttons, and yes, I would add one more to the groups if you have enough to do that. Somehow odd numbers just please the eye more. But you might want to wait until Monday to see the embroidery to add, it might influence your decision.

Melisa's pumpkin jar is so stinking cute! I like seeing all your progress; but, the pumpkin jar is my favorite!
The anniversary gift finished nicely. I like the idea of adding smaller buttons to the penny rug. I look forward to getting the final instructions for this project. You made really good progress on the Halloween Jar. Melisa's designs are so fun.

Your slow stitching projects are all wonderful! Love your candle mat! I saw the next step on Carole’s blog yesterday. I wonder what I have on my stash for that. I have black, but that seems too dark! Love that jar cross stitch!
Lots of fun things to see at your blog today. Congrats on the embroidery/quilt block being moved forward. I hope you show a picture of the finish. Amazing that you had such tiny yellow buttons. I think I'd go with 3 at each area. I like working with wool but don't do all that much of it. Yep, I see the beginning of a smile(?) on your pumpkin. I don't do much cross stitch any more as I have a hard time reading the charts. Although I did pick up a very small pattern on a give away table at retreat. I might give it a try. Have a great week.
