While hunting here and there for purple scraps and chunks this week, I managed to quilt a few more big diamonds on my string quilt.
Meanwhile I decided I'd better finish up my red exclamation marks for the May row of Full Stop. Here's what I have for that project so far.
Unfortunately, my purple scraps, and even fat quarter size pieces, are pretty pitiful! I found enough to cut the squares for one scrappy trips in purple. These are hand-pieced.
And out of those same bits, I made two chandelier bead blocks.
Although that bottom one isn't predominantly purple, it
had some pretty purple flowers (also pink ones) mixed in with
There are twelve of these little blocks now.
Thinking ahead to other things I'm working on that need purple... I may need to do a little stash enhancement! 😉

Quilting is more fun than Housework for Oh Scrap!
Pretty strings (of course). Hope you manage to fit in some stash enhancement .... tough chore but someone has to do it! *wink*
All your RSC projects are coming along nicely. Aren't those beads fun to make!
Every thing looks great! Love those bead blocks!!! I never have a lot of purple here but mostly because I rarely buy it (most I ever bought was for the suffrage year). You need to get some fabric!!! :D Hugs!
Those chandelier blocks are so pretty! Stash enhancement sounds like fun, either online or "in person". :)
Does your Mom have any interest in fabric/sewing?
What a cute punctuation mark quilt! And I've liked that chandelier block ever since I first saw it--fun!!
I wonder why it is that so many of us do not have a lot of purple in our stashes? I managed to come up with enough but I didn't really have a lot of variety to chose from - I will need to restock. Love how the quilts are coming along - I need to do something with all my strings - I might need to look for next year and see if I have strings of all colors to use for an RSC quilt
At least, you made a good start on PURPLE, Diann. Even if your selection is limited!!
I love purple, but, my scraps are pitiful as well - like your full stop rows
Pretty, pretty!! Purple is a color I have a lot of. But I have 2 granddaughters who love purple so I've had reasons to purchase it. LOL
Stash enhancement is a great idea! Hope you can make that happen! It’s fun to see your quilting in the diamond strings! And those chandelier blocks are beautiful!
So fun to see your Full Stop blocks... you are doing a great job of keeping up with the project!
Enjoy the stash enhancement!
Oh my, I just love your string blocks (and quilt). And you can’t have scraps without stash, so a trip to the LQS sounds like an imperative to me! 🤣🤣
I don't have a lot of purple either. Just not a color I use in excess. But your little bits are perfect for the month!
Shortage of purple seems to be a thing lately. I've heard so many, including myself, mentioning their low purple stash. Still you came up with some cute blocks! I do like those exclamation blocks - that will be a fun quilt when it's all done!
Scrappy trips in purple is beautiful as are the 2 chandelier bead blocks.
My purple scraps are low also.
Havea happy weekend, Diann!
Pretty start on purples. Hope you are able to find a good variety of purples.... I find the shades have a big range in purple for some reason.
Your bead blocks are going to make a colorful quilt. They remind me of those beads hanging in doorways back in the day! ;-)
I think my purple stash needs some enhancement too (someday). I hardly even have any purple yardage!
I still haven't quilted my chandelier blocks but yours look so cute!
I love those bead blocks. I am trying not to scrap quilt with too much white but those blocks may pull me back in! Yay purple!
Stay safe and sew on !
Oh How I like those chandelier beads!!
Nice quilting, and nice start on the purples! Nothing wrong with a little stash enhancement. I'm always on the lookout for good purples, greens, and reds.
What fun to see your fun punctuation quilt!! I am from Delta, on the Western slope, by the way.
I laughed as I read all the comments about everyone lacking purple scraps. I definitely don't lack for purple through the whole range. In fact, yesterday I gathered as many lilacs, iris, pansies, hydrangea and other flowers in every shade of purple for my June Table Scraps runner. What fun to visit all these glorious fabrics again (while reminding me why I don't need to buy more fabric).
You always have such inspiring projects to share. The more I see the chandelier blocks the more I want to make them....heaven help me!! Purples are always in short supply in my stash. We tend to gravitate towards certain colors and forget others!
Slim pickings in purple! How can that be? If you want some chunky scraps just let me know...I have plenty!
Thanks for sharing your lovely blocks with Oh Scrap!
Loving your 'bead' blocks, very pretty! Purple is sadly lacking in my stash too, not sure why. But you've got me curious.. did you manage to get a little stash enhancement in?
Nice purple block - happy shopping! xx
