I Like Thursday #242

Happy 1st of July!  As always, it feels to me like the year is flying by.  I did a tiny bit of "decorating" for the 4th of July.

I was in the mood to make some pizza the other night, but wanted something easy for the crust.  This is what we found.

It turned out pretty good!

There are two crusts in the package, so guess what's for dinner tonight?!

Recently, a person I follow on Instagram has been sharing the sayings on her Lipton tea bags, and I wondered if mine had sayings on them, too.  I needed three for a big pitcher of iced tea.  That was a fun discovery!

One more photo of my mom in her apartment.  We took her to Ikea last week to find a small table that would fit her space.  We found the perfect one - just right!  I wanted one, too!  (But no place to put it...)  She's very happy with her new table!

And finally, some happy mail!  I took advantage of Bernie's shop-closing sale and did a little stocking up.  Bernie, your shop will be missed - you kept me supplied during the pandemic.  But a very happy retirement to you!

Have a happy and safe holiday weekend, everyone!  I'm joining in with LeeAnna and friends at Not Afraid of Color for I like Thursday.

Your red petunias in the blue pot are so patriotic! Add punch the little flags was a perfect tough! That reminds me..I ran across a small bunch of little flags when I was cleaning a craft cupboard! Now I know what to do with them!
We like pizza with the premodern crusts. That one looks exceptionally good!

Mom's table is perfect for the space. We use a different brand of crusts but I try to keep them on hand. Pizza is a good way to use up little bits of vegetables that won't make two servings as a side dish.

Mom looks happy in her new place! Pretty fabrics you picked up. That pizza looks yummy. Dove chocolates have a little saying inside their foils as well =)

the one problem I always found with the two different places that mom had in her old age was the smallness of the apartments - it was always difficult to find a space to put a small table to eat at - the first place she had didn't have a residents dining room they were apartments - the second place had a residents dining room but occasionally she wanted to just eat toast or whatever in the apartment and didn't want to go to the dining room. Can you imagine last year when they had all residents eat in their rooms because of the pandemic and they brought the meal to you - how many I wonder didn't have a table?

The flags added to your petunias are just the right touch. I've only made English muffin pizzas (started as a tradition for Christmas Eve when the children were small). I'll have to check on those pre-made crusts. Pizza take-out has gotten really expensive. Happy 4th to you and Mike.

Pin cushion, crumb hearts. Positivity blocks, embroidery and more...all gorgeous stitching, Diann. Perfect table for your Mom. And I'm happy that pizza is still a favourite here too.

Red Rose tea has taglines, too - mostly goofy puns. That new table for your mom looks very useful! Your pizza looks good - now that it's cooler I may have to make one, too!

Yay for finding a quick fix to pizza dough! It looks tasty! While I don't drink tea, Dove chocolates have little sayings on the inside of their foil wraps, which is a bit fun. Love your little planter of flowers for the 4th. That table fits so well in your mom's apartment. I hope she is enjoying her new home! Happy 4th, Diann!

We love the Stonefire pizza crusts too. Their flatbread is good too. Your mother looks so pleased with that sweet table. My aunt found a cute little table at Ikea for her assisted living apartment too but that was some time ago (BC - Before Covid). Looks like a pretty selection of new fabrics from Bernie's!

PS Just placed my order with Bernie too! Thanks for the sale tip!

Hi Diann! Your decorating for Independence Day looks very festive and just perfect. That pizza looks deeeeee-licious. Well - isn't that the coolest thing on the tea bags?!! I have to go look at mine now . . . Mom's new table looks just perfect! My mom had one like that and it is now in my kitchen. Dominic and Auntie Sue work at it ALL the time, doing beading, coloring, and most recently, lacing. It is just the perfect size. {{Hugs}} Happy 4th to you and your peeps! ~smile~ Roseanne

We did pizza last weekend, My Guy ground his own wheat flour for his pizza dough. It was good, but we've used the pre made crusts too and they are really good too. Looks like your mom is settling in well.
