I've been hand quilting my blue and white stars and embroidery quilt. (This one really needs an official name! Any ideas?)
I am a very inexperienced hand quilter, but I sure enjoy the process!
You might be surprised to know that these blocks were made completely out of scraps from two other projects. I just kept making them until I ran out of the fabrics!
I also finished up all the blocks needed for the Centred QAL, designed by Sandra of mmmquilts.
This photo is taken in my basement sewing room, and it's been very hard to get the rich blues to look right with the light down there.
But after getting the first half of the quilt top sewn together, I brought it upstairs by the big living room window. Here are all those beautiful blues!
These blocks have been made using a fat quarter bundle of blue batiks I won in a giveaway last year. Look at the great scraps that are leftover!

Love both of these pieces!!! Thanks for the second photo so we could see the blues better! I'm not sure about a name for the embroidered blue quilt beyond, "Rhapsody in Blue" :) It makes my heart sing every time I see it! Have a wonderful and safe weekend!
I agree with Michele, Rhapsody in Blue! Indoor lighting can be so frustrating. My sewing room, though it has lots of natural light, has fluorescent lights and bright yellow walls. Bleah!
I love your two quilts, fabulous! Batiks are usually beautiful fabrics, and yours are too!! I love the pink inside the blue, very pretty.
Both projects look GREAT! ... you could name the embroidered one "Quarantine Blues" .. just a thought :)
What about a name based on the theme of your embroideries? Wow, Diann! Your version of Sandra's Centered quilt is going to be stunning!
These beautiful clear blue fabrics are a treat for the eyes! The blocks are great, and I absolutely love your embroidered and pieced quilt. Good luck on the hand quilting, it will be lovely.
Oh wow those gorgeous shades of blue got even more gorgeous and look so different in the upstairs lighting! Love everything about both projects.
Wonderful quilt you are hand quilting. I love it. I love what it says on the embroidery piece so I would inspire myself with that to give it a name. Something like Stitched with love or Love's stitches. Anywho! That's me.
Your newest project is awesome. Those blues are so gorgeous and you make them play so nicely together. I love the effect of that design. ;^)
So many gorgeous blues. The Centred QAL is lovely and the quilting on the Blue and White Stars quilt enhances this lovely quilt beautifully. Don't those stars shine next to your sweet stitchery blocks.
Beautiful blue projects, Diann!
I am not good at names! Sorry, but I too love all the beautiful blues!
love those blues - I too am going to be working in blue for a while
I love both your projects. Those batiks are so perfect for that project.
I do like the name Rhapsody in Blue for the quilt you are doing the hand quilting on. It sings :)
You are rocking the blues and greens lately, do you have other colors in your stash? LOL!
Lovely quilts! I consider myself an inexperienced hand quilter too. Looks like you are doing a fine job though!
Both your quilts are so great! Love all the beautiful blue colours! :-)
You are definitely tangled up in blue lately, but what a fun tangle it is! Love the colors in both quilts! No idea on a name for the embroidery quilt, but I'm sure you'll think of something just right.
You do such good work! Your hand-quilting looks very good to me and your Centred blocks are beautiful. You'll have plenty of scraps for the next time Angela calls on blues for RSC! *wink*
Thank you for linking your so pretty blue quilts at Patchwork & Quilts ;))
I like how your Centred quilt is looking. And the embroidery one is amazing. So much time put into that one.
Pat
Beautiful blues!
One can NEVER go wrong with blue nor with batiks IMHO. Diann your rendition of my design is just all kinds of spectacular! Ahhh! Thank you so much for joining in again this year.
Your blue projects are both winners. Great job. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
Such wonderful blue projects, The blues stars and stitchery looks really good! I’m impressed that you are hand quilting . I think it sounds so soothing!
So beautiful! I love those stitcheries and am so happy to hear you are enjoying the hand quilting!
I like Carol's idea of 'quarantine blues' ... or maybe something like "stitching away the blues"?
Your hand quilting is delicious! Such a wonderful, peaceful activity for these tense times. I love your version of Sandra's pattern. It looks like it will be beautiful in any light.
Wow, you sure have some gorgeous projects going, Diann! I really love Centred. Hope your Holiday weekend was nice and peaceful!
Such beautiful blue projects. Its great to see the amazing things you've been working on.
