Good morning! I'm joining in with Linda and friends at Texas Quilt Gal for the To-Do Tuesday link-up, sharing what I plan to be working on this week.
I had decided last week that I wanted to focus on some finishes this month, and I've stayed on that track through the week. I started with the Rainbow 4 Patches: finished piecing the quilt top, pieced a back, spray basted all the layers, and started the quilting.
By yesterday I had quilted a basic grid - once through the smaller 4 patches and once through the larger blue squares.
This leaves a space of about 4 inches between the quilting lines.
But I decided to add twice the amount of quilting so that there is only a 2 inch square between quilting. So, going both directions through each 3.5 inch section.
It will take longer, but I'll be happier with the results!
The other finish I want to work on is Positivity, and that will happen after the 4 patch quilt is done.
I did finish my little squirrel project, the Fall embroidery. Read about it here.
So, what is on this week's list?
💙 Keep quilting the 4 patch quilt! Hopefully I will even get to the point of sewing on the binding!
💙 Start thinking about my Rainbow Scrap Challenge projects for October. The colors are bright/line greens or light neutrals. My cutting board is looking like this:
Making some hourglass blocks out of Kaffe charm squares for my
October Table Scraps project.
There's always plenty to do!

It won't be long now and your 4 patches will be done. You are so right in the fact even though it will take longer to quilt, you will be so much more satisfied with it in the long run, so worth it. You got this!
You have beautiful lime green fabrics to play with this month, Diann. And your 4 patch quilt will be pretty the way you have decided quilting it. Happy stitching!!
nice quilting! I still need to get started on October projects also
I like your grid! I hear you on wanting a bit more quilting. It's at that point I usually just want to be done with it but know I'll be happier once I do the right thing!
Thanks for linking up to To Do Tuesday. :)
Seems like forever since I've checked in with you! Not sure I even know what project this is so I'll have to go back a little but I agree, I do like the extra quilting!
The extra quilting looks great! I'm liking the little pops of color on your cutting board, too!
Great decision about the added quilting on the 4-patch quilt! And, yikes,I’d momentarily forgot about a lime green table topper! Margaritas anyone? :)
Hi Diann! Great job on staying on task this week. I don't remember seeing Rainbow 4-patch before. Yippee for getting started on quilting it. I'll just bet you get to the binding stage this week for sure! ~smile~ Roseanne
I totally agree there’s always something to do. I really like your both your four-patch and hour glass blocks.
Great progress this week and a fun plan for next!
