I love green - especially this time of year, when the world is greening up.
It's greening up in my sewing room, too!
I started with the quarter star blocks this week, and made eight of them. Plus a few little four patches for leaders and enders.
Then played with all the colors! Because I'm building this one from the center out, the look changes every time I add a new color. When we have orange month this will change again and the greens will mix with the blues instead of the reds. Right now my plan is to use the warm colors closer in and the cool colors around the outside.
44 blocks.
I'm going to need at least 100!

Your quarter star blocks look amazing, Diann. I love the background fabric. Have a lovely weekend. Hugs.
Isn’t it fun to build a quilt one colour at a time, month by month ? I like your plan for colour layout. Things are getting green around here too. Gail at the cozy quilter.
I'm loving watching this one grow!! I might add this to my RSC list of blocks
The background fabric is really nice for showing off those quarter stars - you have a great start to this one.
It is beautifully green here too, and I love this particular time of the year before the heat ruins it all!
Great green projects and your star is looking stunning! :)
It IS finally greening up in our neck of the woods. The grasses are green and growing. I spotted daffodils in a Welcome to Gillette planter on Wednesday. I love that star burst layout of colors. It’s fabulous!
That quarter star is a interesting design, love your idea of going from warm to cool.
Love those blocks! It is a big project! I saw your son made the Madelienes--did he use our recipe? The looked wonderful! Have a great weekend!
Ooooh - what you are doing with the quarter stars is so interesting. That is going to be very pretty!
That's going to be a pretty quilt. Love the stars and the background fabric. After living +20 years in the tropics, I hardly notice all the green anymore. I haven't forgotten springtime in Norway, when plants turn green and flowering. It's an amazing time of the year.
I love that last pattern you show - that is going to be a great one! Don't you just love spring we all seem so happy to see the green!
I really like the direction you are going with those quarter star blocks. It's going to be a really cool quilt.
Your exploding star is looking great as a RSC project! You are caught up with green this month and it is early!!! Good for you!
That's looking great! I love how the look changes as you add each new color.
That will be a cool quilt!
Fun to see your green nature & fabrics, Diann!!! It's finally turning green here, too. Your 44 blocks are looking so colorful & fun!!!
I love what you are doing with your Quarter star blocks, I would never have thought of that.
It's so much fun to see what you're doing with these blocks each month, and how the quilt changes when a new color is added. This quilt is exciting!
This is looking fabulous! Thanks for sharing in Sew & Tell.
Nice green blocks. The layout is magnificent.
Considering it is only the 6th of May I'm really impressed with you having a great start on your May rainbow scrap color. And I really like what you are doing. (*note to self... think about stealing this idea for next year!) Have a great week sewing.
Like everyone here, Diann, I am loving the arrangement that you are using for your quarter star blocks! This is looking very cool! :)
