I stitched a grand total of one strawberry this week while enjoying our days in San Diego! The days and evenings were just spent too differently from the usual times at home when I sew.
We did go to the Coronado farmers market and bought some locally grown California strawberries. Yummy!
And the view for stitching was pretty neat - the Shelter Island marina was right outside our hotel room for these last couple days.
It's always fun to go, but I am also glad to be home again. Maybe there will be time for some slow stitching after I get caught up on laundry and groceries today!

Glad you had a good time on your trip. I’m sure you will get lots of stitching done this week now that you are home. Those strawberries look delicious. Our farmer’s market had local strawberries yesterday. Yum!
I always take something to stitch when we go on vacay and most of the time I don't get much done anymore. When I were younger it seemed I did more. Welcome home and happy stitching!
San Diego is one of my favorite places. Those strawberries look scrumptious.
I love that green quilt as you go placemat, Diann. How neat to get a little getaway...a break is as good as a rest! And a cute little strawberry to remember those beautiful ones at the market.
Wow, I love your photos and those strawberries look delicious--including the one you are embroidering! :) Have a great day!
Always fun to travel but it is so nice be come home to your own house and routine! The berry looks good enough to eat!
Love that photo of your view! We shall count eating strawberries as research for stitching them - lol! I had one memorable trip to San Diego with my Mom and daughter, back in the mid 1990s. We drove from her home in Riverside and had the most wonderful day exploring a zoo and rose gardens. It was a beautiful town.
Looks like a relaxing place to stitch. Stiching is probably the only time that I can only do one strawberry. Ha Ha.
those are huge strawberries - do you remember how much they were selling them? My strawberries are much smaller with only a few that get really large. Sounds like you had a nice trip and a break from routine.
Great statement there -- so busy having a wonderful vacation that you were too busy to sew. Sometimes we just have to enjoy life a bit before stepping back into reality. I will say you stitched that lone strawberry beautifully!
Glad you had a wonderful trip and that there wasn't down time available for much stitching! Home is a great place to be, I agree with you about traveling!
How fun to visit sunny San Diego! And eat strawberries! Decadent! :)
One stitched strawberry is better than none. And sometimes, we just need to be in the moment and enjoy. Speaking of strawberries, those were some huge ones at the farmer's market.
Finding those slow stitching minutes when you are on the road is tough. Hope you've had a chance to get unpacked and get a bit of laundry caught up.
With distractions like that farmers market and the marina view, no wonder you got little stitching done! Sounds like it was a wonderful and relaxing trip!
We came home from CA on Monday. Tuesday was laundry, today was food shopping. I'm glad to be home too. I like that little strawberry.
Mmm fresh strawberries. Yummy! Your little berry basket is looking fabulous, Diann. The fabric you are stitching it on is so pretty. I hope you enjoy this little stitch. Hugs.
