Slow stitching everyday...

I finally had some time to prep the variegated blue embroidered project for hand quilting and get started on that on Thursday.

You would probably call my hand quilting "big stitch" and I do best with simple straight lines following the seams.  Right now I'm stitching around and around the center basket design.

I also made some progress on the Rose Garden Mini Sampler from PinkernPunkin.  Little by little the border and the roses are emerging!

As always, there's plenty to work on for my Slow Sunday Stitching!
Linking up with Kathy's Quilts.

I am a big stitch quilter too. I do not aspire to make tiny quilting stitches! I have another hand quilting project waiting in the wings which I will work on over the summer. Right now, most of our time is being spent getting the yard into shape for the summer. Your hand quilting looks beautiful! The rose sampler will soon be done and you will need a bigger bowl for all your little bowl fillers! Gail at the cozy quilter

Both of your projects are looking great. I almost brought the rose sampler with me me to hospital. But I changed my mind and brought an online book in my Kindle app. I’ll get to it when I’m back with my supplies! 😊

The hand quilting is looking good - I say it is between regular stitch and big stitch. Some people do big stitch quilting so large that I wonder how a finger nail or toe nail doesn't get caught in it!! I used to do very tiny stitching but as my hands age I gave up on that and do larger stitching - if one were to measure them I would say I do about 6 or 7 stitches per inch and to me yours look about the same.

I love those roses. Your "x" looks much smaller that all the other letters. Is it supposed to be? I look forward to seeing the blue embroidery project once the quilting is completed. All so pretty.

Nice progress on your slow stitching projects. I've been watching videos on hand quilting and I think big stitch would be my style...at least at first. Next is trying to figure out the best thread and needle to use.
