April in my garden starts like this:
Some tulips are blooming, and lots of pretty purple grape hyacinths.
Last year's leaves were still there - I leave them over the winter for mulch - but I've cleaned them out since this photo was taken.
But the crowning glory of Spring in our yard is this beautiful Spring Snow Crabapple. It was at its peak this week.
This afternoon the wind came up and the "Spring snow" part of its name happened!
I came home the other day to a box of goodies that came in the mail from Nann - thank you, Nann! There's a lot to dig into, but I'll share one item that was in it that I know will get used - a rainbow of embroidery floss!
LeeAnna's question of the week is about Easter baskets. I loved getting an Easter basket as a kid - ours were usually full of chocolate, especially those little individually wrapped chocolate eggs. Remember these? It looks like you can still get them - even a dark chocolate variety!
Nowadays, my Easter basket looks like this:
Those are painted wooden eggs!
(Not that I don't enjoy some chocolate every now and then...
Maybe I'll have to put in a request with the Easter bunny!)

Happy Thursday, Diann. It certainly looks like Spring has Sprung. Your garden is so colorful and pretty. I as a child also enjoyed those little chocolate eggs as well as Peeps and one Cadbury egg. Nowadays my basket looks like yours filled with stitching and handmades. Love your wooden eggs. Did you paint them? I hope the Easter bunny brings you a chocolate bunny. Have a terrific day. Hugs
Pretty flowers! I love to see trees flowering in the spring ! That kind of spring snow is the type I don’t mind. The other kind, not so much. We used to do egg hunts for our daughter. She loved running around the house to find all the eggs. Gail at the cozy quilter
I love seeing your garden and your entry table, always something pretty. Has Nann shut down her blog? I can't seem to reach it.
Your current Easter basket is much easier on the waistline than the ones you received as a kid! I too looked forward to the Easter basket that was waiting for us. There was usually one plastic egg that was filled with something too! Your tulips are so cheery!
The flowering trees are just about done blooming here. A very fun gift of embroidery thread. Lots of pretties can be made with that. I've become addicted to the Russell Stover Raspberry creme filled chocolate eggs. I buy two every Easter to enjoy.
Your Easter display is SO pretty!
Cute Easter egg display, Diann!!! Love your basket, too! You're greener than we are here in Minnesota right now. But we'll catch up!
I was going to get some easter candy today when I got done at the dentist seeing as I had to pick up a few groceries but totally forgot it - was not on my list - easy to be forgetful. Nice flowers and so nice of Nann to send you item she was no longer needing.
Our crabapple has been lush this year too. Though ours is pink so it must be a different variety. I always looked forward to the Easter basket goodies. Sorry to say, I've not brought out any Easter decor this year.
Ooh - pretty floss. Pretty Easter basket. The closest thing I have right now is a vase of Ukrainian eggs.
Last post...Love those 16 patch stars you are making, Diann. And what pretty batiks to work with. Will be a joy to see what you sew with those! I'm just starting to like dark chocolate which they say is good for you...though I'm not sure I believe that. :)
