How is that possible?! This year is flying by! I'm glad to be able to slow down a bit today and enjoy some hand stitching.
This year I've been hand piecing a couple of hollow 9 patch blocks each month in the Rainbow Scrap Challenge color, which has been blue in June. I decided to make both a dark blue and a light blue block this month.
There are just 12 of these blocks so far, which means this quilt is progressing slowly (or will end up very small!), but that's okay. These are pleasant to stitch and I'm in no hurry!
Since Angela announced that the July color is aqua, I spent a little time yesterday afternoon cutting out the pieces needed for another hollow 9 patch, and I'll plan to stitch it together today!
Meanwhile this week, I've also been adding stitches to this little watermelon design. It just needs some sunflowers coming out of that pretty blue jar, and some little bees stitched on, too.

Cute cat fabric in your aqua block! Your collection of blocks is growing! Your little cross stitch projects are always fun to see. Have a great week! Gail at the Cozy quilter
Your hand pieced blocks are looking good, so colorful. Happy stitching today. I'm not ready for July either, the first half of the year went fast!
I really like your hollow nines, and that aqua one with the kitties is so cute. :) The watermelon cross stitch is looking pretty!
It's fun to have projects that we are in no hurry to finish, more relaxing that way;) Happy stitching!
You have so many lovely projects! I was also noticing the craziness of time flying!
very nice projects! in the last photo love the cat fabric
Your little stitchery is very cute. Nice fabrics in your next aqua nine patch. When I was using aqua as a background for my Hexie quilt I had a hard job finding that colour. So if I see any which isn’t often I buy some!
Every time I see your hand piecing blocks, , I think I need to find a YouTube tutorial and then I don’t follow through. They are just awesome!
And the jar added to your watermelon stitch! Too cute!
Happy Stitching
Those blocks are adorable. Enjoy stitching the aqua ones.
Beautiful blocks, I love the aqua fabrics, and that cute cross stitch.
Happy Sunday, Diann. Your Hollow Nine Patches are gorgeous. You have such an eye for color. I look forward to seeing them all pieced together in a quilt. Have you decided how big your quilt is going to be? Your Watermelon Stamp is beautiful; I am so touched that you added it to your summer stitching. You will have it completed in no time. Thank you for stitching it. Have a great day and a Happy 4th of July week. Hugs.
Those 9 patch blocks are very pretty. I love the teal fabrics that you have. Your little watermelon stitchery is cute.
