I Like Thursday #291

 This week around the house:

I shared this photo on Instagram the other day.  My flower pots are cracking me up this summer!  With the intention of having a mixture of red and white petunias in my two big pots, I planted the same amount of each color.  Apparently the white ones are much happier than the reds!

We're getting a new roof, and Monday the nice young guy we're working with came over with samples so that we could pick the shingles.  Of course, nothing looks quite the same as what we have now, but hopefully we'll be happy with our choice.

We picked the shingles on the right.

Reading and watching:

My favorite "guilty pleasure" author has a new book out, and it's a good one!

I noticed that the streaming network Peacock was showing the new Downton Abbey movie, if you paid $4.99 for their premium service.  So we did it, and enjoyed the movie very much!

Now we have Peacock Premium for a month,
so if there's anything you want to recommend for us, let me know!

Out and about:

I needed a day out of the house so we went up to Estes Park and played miniature golf.  So fun!

I found a new (to me) quilt shop up there, too, so we popped in and I hunted around for a few purple fat quarters.  My stash is sadly lacking in purples for my RSC blocks!  Now I should have enough, though.

These will be fun to play with!

Hope you're having a great week!
I'm joining in with "I Like Thursday" at Not Afraid of Color.

At least your petunias are surviving! Lovely new purples. I stocked up on blues this week as I have very little "real" basic blue; most of mine is on thee green or purple side.

I think the last time I was in Estes Park area I found one quilt shop only and it really wasn't that great. Did you hear there was a big rock slide somewhere in the park the other day? I only saw one story on it - it was up high wherever it was. Hope you like your new roof, I haven't read that book - will add to the list - sometimes I like her books other times not

I don't think I've ever read Nora Roberts - I'll look that one up. Good luck with your new roof! The guys are here today putting down our wood deck. I feel sorry for anyone who works in the sun this summer, but at least it's a little bit cooler here this week. I think we're going to watch the DA movie this weekend on Dish - I can't wait! Enjoy your weekend Diann!

Thanks for the book recommendation! I like your roof choice, too. Who won in putt-putt golf? Those purple fabrics are lovely.

I can't wait to see the new Downton Abbey movie. We are watching some of the old shows to get ready.

Your petunias are lovely. Isn't it funny when you have to choose things like roofing, siding, etc. What a fun day out playing golf, and gorgeous purples.

Did you go to Lyons Quilt Shop? I think that was near Estes Park and I think my sister liked to shop there sometimes. I hope you like white petunias because you've got plenty there. I like white flowers. They brighten and lighten spots in the garden. I'll tell my Mom about your Nora Roberts book. She enjoys that author too.

I enjoy miniature golf - glad you got out and about. And found a new quilt shop to boot - score! Thanks for the recommendation on Nora's new book. I just finished The Summer Cottage by Viola Shipman and enjoyed it as well! Happy Fourth!!!
