I Like Thursday #264

Happy Thursday!  I'm joining in with "I Like Thursday" hosted by LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color

All decorated for Christmas!
I love Christmas lights!

And Christmas trees, too, all the varieties of them.  If you are on Instagram, you might enjoy this gal's feed @englishanj   I think Wendy clued me in to her - she is a food writer who got really creative during the pandemic restaurant shutdowns and started feeding (and decorating in miniature for) a little chipmunk who she calls Thelonius Munk.  Her posts are so entertaining!

My quilting/blogging/reading friend Carole at From my Carolina Home had a post full of holiday books she recommends the other day, and I decided that was just what I needed for these next few weeks.  See Carole's post here.  I downloaded one right away to my Hoopla app through the library, went down and picked another book up, and put a third book on my hold list.  I won't run out of holiday reading!

And speaking of books, I got an early Christmas present the other day!  Gail Pan's new book of embroidery and patchwork designs.  It's been fun looking through it - lots of new things to make!

Even though I have an ongoing embroidery project going on right now,
of course I'm looking forward to starting one of these!

We have so many chipmunks I'd be feeding an army! I know you will get a lot of pleasure from your new Gail Pan book.

Thanks for the mention, Diann, I am currently reading The Peaceful Season and enjoying it a lot. I know I had Thelonius on my blog too, he is just too cute!

So you put up a real tree inside your house? I have an artificial one since I don't like the pine needles dropping.
I have my little snowman scene up in the foyer. Holiday reading is the best, I love Robyn Carr's books.

We are planning an excursion to cut a real tree this weekend! We did that last year while with our son. So fun! No decorations here yet though. I try to read at least one Christmas themed book every year! Yours looks like a good one!

Driving to Bible study through town the other night all the Christmas lights. I think my favorite was an old house with what looked like the outline of a middle eastern town on the house in different colored lights. But on the lawn was a gorgeous manger scene. OMG the chipmunk, and Thelonius Monk is awesome! I love holiday reading, I have to go check out what she recommends.

omg that chipmmunk! How adorable is that!!! The books look very inviting too.,.. your lights are pretty and I kind of want every embroidery book out there. The Quilt Show is doing free embroidery lessons with alex on youtube right now. The book she's using sounds good too since it shows you 30 ways to use simple stitches.

All good things - I'm glad you are enjoying Thelonius Monk. I enjoy seeing what she has set up for him each day, and then watching those cheeks fill up with nuts! What a delightful book, I'm sure you will enjoy the projects!

I like the lights on your house! Thank you for the link to the Christmas reading list. That sounds cozy, although our temps have been in the 70s and are forecast to be 80+ today - so not much coziness there! There's not much more fun than a new Gail Pan book is there!
Have a great weekend Diann!
