A Little Finish

When you've had a busy week, a small finish feels very satisfying, and that is how I'm feeling today!   I took this small bunch of 6 inch wonky stars...

And sewed them up into this 18 x 24 inch quilt!

The red underneath is the backing of Positivity,
which is in the process of being quilted.  (Or maybe I should say -
that's what I should have been working on!)

A leftover piece from this quilt provided the backing and binding.

This little quilt would make a good doll quilt!  Maybe my Jo doll from Little Women needs a new quilt?

It also works as a tabletopper - maybe I'll call it my Table Scraps project for November?

But I also like it hanging like this, on the door of the storage shelves in my sewing room.

Some of my wonky stars are definitely better looking than others.
Learning the best way to make them was a process, and I improved as I went along.   The thing I love the most about this little quilt is the great scraps it contains.  Many of my favorite quilts are represented here!

What a sweet quilt! I really like it hanging on the door to the sewing cabinet. It looks great with the bins of scraps next to it. They go together like bread & butter!

What a happy little quilt! It is so versatile, and your wonky stars look great. That leftover piece of pretty backing really is perfect for it. I see that Garden Path is still at your house. ;)
T found several "perfect backings" at Joann's yesterday and spent more than I intended, but it sure was faster than waiting for online shipping!

Every doll needs a quilt! Yes, sometimes all we need is a small finish to get the juices flowing again. I pulled out an old UFO and a bag of orphan blocks this week and expect to have two new tops by the end of retreat next week.

You've got to love a multi-purpose mini quilt, Diann!! Each of your little Wonky Stars is so sweet. I think it will be an awesome entry for the November 2021 TABLE SCRAPS Challenge (but it looks great as a wall hanging, too!)

This is one sweet little finish all right, Diann.
I like your stash enhancement fabric you bought. I'm sure it will be perfect for one of your projects. Also loved that photo from Mike's camera. Skies are awesome aren't them. I have never seen that little bird. I think it is kind of rare.

So cute! It looks great as a doll quilt, table topper, OR wallhanging. So versatile! Maybe it needs to rotate jobs every quarter.

Adorable! Congrats on the finish and the very nice cross hatch quilting! I have been a little bit afraid of making wonky stars, but you make them look so great. And isn't it amazing how the smallest scrap holds memories?

Congrats on the finish! The great thing about little quilts is that they are easy to move around to different places:)

What a cute little treasure Diann. I think it needs to hang where you can enjoy it! Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!

So cute and so finished! That red and white print would have worked as the backing but the multi-print is even better.
