4th of July sewing...

In need of a hand stitching project, I dug up some 2.5 inch precut squares in reds, blues, and low volumes.  I started with 4 patches and ended with this hand-pieced 36 patch square.

How about this neat cardinal in the trees print for a backing?

A scrap of batting and some #12 perle cotton in white, and I'm ready to do some hand quilting on this little piece.  This will be my slow Sunday stitching for today!

While I'd like to be stitching, I have to take advantage of a comfortable day for garden work and since it rained Friday night, I need to pull some weeds real quick before they take over. Happy Fourth.
