To-Do Tuesday #78

Happy Tuesday!   I'm checking in with Chris and friends at Chrisknits to share my to-do list for the week.  Considering I had to take my sewing machine in for repair last Tuesday, and I'm taking it back today for the actual repair to take place, it hasn't been too bad of a week!  (wink!)

So what did I get done?

  • The quilt I'm working on for the Salt and Sand blog hop in March is spray basted and ready to quilt.   I'll wait and see if my Pfaff actually does get fixed before I start the quilting.

  • I worked on Round 5 of the Stay at Home Round Robin project and made wonky stars.  I shared what I thought this round would look like in yesterday's post.  Here's a look at one corner:

The next round is to be log cabin blocks, and inspired by Roseanne's quarter log cabin idea, I took those pink squares and turned them into the same type of quarter log cabin block.  Just two so far.  Now here's what the corner could look like:

This could work...

Also on the list last week was giving myself the possibility of working on some other kind of project, and I did get a bit caught up in a squirrel.

A leftover Dresden sunflower, some yellow string blocks -
not sure where this is going, but it could be fun!

So, this week's to-do list will continue with more of the same.
  • Work on the Stay at Home Round Robin project - star round and log cabin round.
  • Quilt the blog hop project - hopefully!
  • Continue with the squirrel project.
Have a productive week, everyone!

The square log cabin looks great with that wonky star. I am sure you will come up with a lovely Sand & Salt quilt.
I am glad you could also play with beautiful and bright yellows.
Hope your Pfaff is ready to give you more fun this week.
Hugs

I like what you did with those log cabin blocks! That yellow project is bright and sunny, too. I just read that the beginning of March is the time (here, anyway) that baby squirrels are born, so I'm strapping in and getting ready. You never know when those squirrels might show up! Can't wait for you to have your sewing machine back, fixed and ready!

Love the corner treatment! I got stalled on the SAHRR but am so inspired to try some of the things I've seen, just on other quilts.

I like the yellow Dresden! Blue and yellow is one of my favorite combinations.

I don't know where that Dresden is going but I can guarantee that it dropped off from the midday sun :-) Your wonky stars sing and dance!!!

Love the yellow Dresden and string blocks. Could this be a TSC project???? Hmmmm, I wonder. Your SAHRR is fabulous. The use of the quarter log cabins was genius!

Hi Diann! Wow - you did great on your list in spite of your sewing machine. And your wonky star is just perfectly wonky, isn't it?!! Love, love, LOVE, L.O.V.E. how you worked in the LC blocks. Since I still haven't finished my last round you are giving me new ideas!! Back to the drawing board and sewing machine, I'm thinking. And that secondary pattern is so cool, too. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

The log cabin corners really work. Looking forward to seeing what you decide to do on that front. Good luck with this week's list!

Oh that is a bright and cheery Dresden! I think it's funny how I've gone from completely disliking the Dresden when I first started quilting to absolutely loving them over the last few years. I made one a couple years ago and can't wait to make another. It'll be fun to see where yours goes!

I like your new idea for the SAHRR! And the Dresden sunshine squirrel looks like the perfect little detour.

That dresden! Love it in yellow and I can't wait to see what it becomes.

That sea lion fabric in the Salt and Sand quilt is so cute. I like the way you combined the wonky star with the quarter log cabins. It creates an interesting combo. I've never done any Dresden blocks. I suppose I should give them a try. I like how you turned them into sunflowers in your sprouts quilt. Hope the machine repair doesn't take long.
