Happy Tuesday! Hope you're staying warm! I'm checking in with my weekly to-do list to share what I've accomplished and what's coming up next.
This past week I was able to get all caught up on my Stay at Home Round Robin project, rounds 3 and 4! But I'm looking for some advice. Should I leave the dark blue/green cornerstones as is, or should I replace them with the lighter green to keep that green going around the corners?
I like the circular look that's appearing with the borders as I've made them, but the dark cornerstones in the last border seem to interrupt that.
I also finished up a yellow placemat for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge color of the month, which you can read about in this post!
Some progress was made on my project for the Salt and Sand blog hop, coming up in March. The quilt top is finished, and it just needs to be quilted. Here's a peek at the backing. Doesn't it look perfect for the "salt and sand" theme?
This fabric has a great selvage, too. Not sure if you can tell, but those are sailing ships in all the colors on the selvage!
So what's on this week's list?
- Unfortunately, yesterday afternoon, my sewing machine started acting up and I have to take it in to the shop today. Hopefully it will be a quick fix!
- Once the sewing machine is back, I'll be working on the border of my SAHRR. This week it's wonky stars! That ought to be fun!
- Quilting the blog hop project is the other big thing on the list.
- Other miscellaneous sewing will probably happen - depending on the sewing machine!

I like the darker cornerstones in the last border. You used the same fabric in some of the other borders and it brings some cohesiveness to the quilt.
You are doing a great work, Diann.
Pretty world map fabric, I am just courious about the Salt and Sand blog hop
I think the block is looking good I was expecting wonky stars or is that the next round? I didn't see any green in that blue on my screen - but that is normal - my screen colors on my laptop never seem to be right. I do like the curve of the design that is being created.
I like the cornerstones! It looks fantastic! I love that fabric and you are so right, that selvedge is really neat! Have a safe and happy week!
I like the dark cornerstones. What fun fabric. I love when they do something fun with the selvedges.
I do like the dark cornerstone, but it might depend on what you are going to do in the next border.
I think your SAHRR is fabulous! Hope that your machine is back home and working well soon! I dread that! Our nearest repair dealer is 150 miles in any direction. There is a local guy that cleans, but he can’t get parts for my old Bernina.
What an awesome selvage on the map fabric! In fact that pretty great fabric!
If the dark cornerstones don't sit right with you, how about trying HSTs made with the green and the blue, If you place the green part of the HST to the outer corner, that might keep the movement circular? Either way, I'm liking what I see. I sure hope your machine is an easy fix! Do you have a back up machine?
I like the dark corners, but it's your project, do what feels right. Thanks for linking up today and good luck on your list and your sewing machine repair!
Wow! You are ahead of the game with your Salt and Sand Blog Hop quilt top already completed. SEW impressive!
I still see the circular movement with the dark cornerstones. I like them. Hope that machine will be back lickity-split!
I am sorry Diann, about your sewing machine. Hope you are reunited soon. I love the colors of your SAHRR. I am sure that whatever you decide it will be lovely. Wonky stars sounds very exciting. Be safe and stay warm.
I hope your sewing machine is a quick fix. Mine was in for just 4 days and I can't believe the difference, I forgot how quiet it was supposed to be. Silly me, should have taken it it long ago for a little spa day.
I like the corners on your RR. Maybe with the next round you can keep the corners open and it will continue the circular look. Just my 2 cents!
I like the dark cornerstones but if you don’t like them, change them, Great work!
You did wonderful quilt. Love this very very much! Anyway, Broadway Fabrics is here with an amazing Quilt Patterns from Notions Supplies. Check the dazzling range now!
I like the dark corners. They "finish" the borders. I'm not sure the light green would do that. Sorry the machine needed a spa day. Hopefully you've got it back and have made great inroads on this week's to do list.
