I finished up this pretty blue design -
I also pulled out the redwork snowmen and snowflakes that I worked on earlier this year so that I could put them together into a little tablerunner. I started by adding Christmas-y fabric to both so that they would turn into 6.5 inch squares.
When all put together, they look like this. Facing in different directions so it doesn't matter which side of the table you're sitting on!
Now I'm thinking about what to do next. It feels like it needs another border, and here's what I have to choose from.
I love the green with snowflakes, but the cute print I've already used has more of a lime green in it. My greens are really lacking right now, so maybe some stash enhancement will be in order for this project!

Your table runner turned out so sweet! I like the green snowflake fabric too. From the picture, it looks like the snowflakes in the background are a bit lime green too? An excuse for stash enhancement is always welcomed though too!
That is such a cute table runner! I had the same thought as Susie about the lighter snowflakes in the green background. I love that sweet blue embroidery.
Would you believe my oldest granddaughter wants to learn to embroidery so she can embellish clothes! I'm getting her the basics for Christmas and will spend some time showing her my rusty skills while she is here for a few days later this month.
What sweet little snowmen. Facing both sides of the table sounds like a great plan for a runner. That will keep everyone happy.
Love the little blue stitchery;)))
Snowmen alternating is such a great idea. That will be so cute for your table.
Hugs from far away, Julierose
You are moving along on several fronts. Very fun table runner. I think you could add the print you used in the blocks as the border and then bind it in the red. But if that doesn't feel right, stash enhancement would definitely be justified.
Love the table runner! Great idea to face the snowmen different directions and love the little snowflakes in the alternate block!
love the red snowmen I started to make some last year and never got them out this year, after I get done with the small wall hanging stitching that Melanie gave us last Christmas to make it into a table mat or wall hanging I should did them out and see what I have to make a small table runner or something.
Love your table runner, I think I would use the printed fabric you have in the blocks for a border. The blue stitchery piece is lovely.
Super cute table runner, Diann!! Do you have enough of that darling print that you used in the blocks to use for the border? That might up the cute factor. If that's not what you are looking for, have fun shopping!
Beautiful Table Runner. I like the green for
a border. Maybe a 2" border so it doesn't
overwhelm the design. Whatever you choose
it will be beautiful...have a great day!
Cute, cute. However you decide to finish it, what a fun runner for the holidays.
Very nice runner! Love the snowflakes and snowmen! I would use the print on the left for the next border and then red for the binding. You could always use the snowflake fabric on the back. It's a little more challenging to do stash enhancement these days. Lucky for me, I have lots of fabric to work with in my sewing room!
lovely table runner Diann, I really like it.
Your blue embroydery is beautiful.
Happy stitching my friend.
Cute table runner, and I love the redwork~ Happy stitching!
I used to collect snowmen, so I have a fondness for them! Yours are so cute! Always enjoy seeing your projects, Diann!
Very cute! I have a book of redwork with lots of snowmen patterns, yours makes me want to dig it out!
That is a darling table runner. I'm sure you will pick the perfect finishing border for it. You always manage to!
The little blue embroidery is so pretty. Love those sweet little redwork snowmen and snowflakes; how fabulous they look grouped together as a table runner. Your pretty blocks look sweet with the pretty Christmassy fabric skipping around each one. I think it is always a good day when one does a little more fabric shopping.
The snowman/snowflake runner is so cute. I think the green snowflake fabric is not quite right. The print would be okay unless you really want a green. Also depends on how big you make the border.
Love it! I would definitely look for a different green, but then I love the limey greens!
Love the piece and I like the green with it (I think it pops). I don't have much of a green selection left (just looked to see if I could send you a lime green). Isn't it funny the fabric colors we use up? I'm sure there are cyber monday fabric sales someplace! Have a wonderful day and stay safe!
Too bad you don't live close by -- I could give you some lime green .. several different shades probably! But stash enhancement works for me!
