Moving Along

This week, I wanted to finish sewing the Rainbow Jungle trees into 4 patches, and then into rows, and then into a quilt top.

By Friday afternoon, the rows were coming together.

Needing some leaders and enders, I pulled out some scrappy bits and worked on a wonky star block.

It didn't take long to have a star block...

(That bottom right corner is a little skimpy!
Maybe it will work anyway, with a smaller seam allowance.)

and the center of a quilt top, too!

This measures 48.5 x 54.5, so it's going to get a 6 inch forest green border all the way around.  More on that next week, hopefully!  :)

The wonky stars are going to mix in with the Easy Breezy blocks I'm making, like this -

These blocks will continue on into 2021.

I love the stars with your Easy Breezy blocks!! They look fab! I didn't think that one star was skimpy though~!
I love your tree quilt! Can't wait to see the border! Have a wonderful day Diann and a great weekend!

Your tree quilt is turning out to be so pretty, and a nice sized quilt! Can't wait to see it with the green border. I noticed those stars in your "I Like Thursday" post and loved them in with the Easy Breezy blocks.

The wonky stars are going to be the perfect addition to Easy Breezy. Yesterday I discovered a box of pre-cut Christmas fabrics for wonky trees that I cut in 2017!

Wow you really made progress on those trees! I like the setting with your wonky stars as alternate blocks with Easy breezy.

great idea for easy breezy - I made a few trees for a house quilt and the next thing I knew I was hooked

A wide green border sounds like the perfect way to finish off the tree quilt. Love how the wonky stars look together with easy breezy. Great progress on both quilts.

Trees and stars! Fun! Yes, that wonky star will work, even if you lose the point (it's part of the wonky).

I love the trees. The wonky stars are a perfect match for the Easy Breezy blocks. I need to remember to try alternate blocks to bring some of my interrupted projects to a finish.

I am truly loving that Jungle Tree quilt! Why, oh, why, do I keep getting inspiration for so many new projects? Never enough time in this lifetime for all of them. Take care and be safe

Oh, that Rainbow Jungle is fun! And what a great idea to combine Wonky Stars and Easy Breezies. I'll have to remember Easy Breezies for an alternate block. I think I need one for an old UFO.

Great projects! I love the wonky stars as an alternate block. What a good idea, thinking ahead to next year's projects. I'm trying, but I keep having too many inspirations.

A dark green border will really frame all those little trees. And I love the idea of the stars between the Easy blocks!

Using Wonky Stars with your Easy Breezy block is going to be awesome! Rainbow Jungle is Super!

Brilliant to add the wonky stars to the Easy Breezy. Hum... maybe I should try something like that. It may be difficult for me as I used all sorts of different fabrics in all three locations. I'm not ready to be done with them yet although soon if I'm lucky.
