Cheddar and HSTs

I needed something simple and fun to work on in my sewing room this week, so I chose the yellow half-square triangles for the final zigzag row.

Just 4 more needed and I'll be able to sew this row together!

Isn't this one cute?

I've also been playing along with the Autumn Jubilee QAL at From My Carolina Home, just making one or two blocks from each week's instructions.  I've been wanting to sew with cheddar and dark blue, so decided this quilt along was a way to do that.  I also mixed in some other fall themed scraps that I have had from previous years' Autumn Jubilee projects.

I've made two star blocks, a funky patchwork pine tree (!), and a maple leaf.  Not sure if the pine tree will make the cut yet!  (Maybe I should remake it using more of my cheddar and dark blue?  That would really make a funky tree!)

The cheddar looks florescent and the dark blue looks like black,
but I promise you they look pretty fun together in person!

Check out the QAL posts here:

Your zigzag row looks bright and happy. I haven't made any of Carole's row quilt but I've been tempted. Happy stitching!

Love the yellow and the balloon girl! You really seem to accomplish a lot with the Rainbow SAL and I'm thinking of joining that it January. I love all the blocks you get done each week! Have a safe and wonderful weekend!

"Cheddar" is a great name for the yellow, and I really like the blue and cheddar together. I bet you enjoyed working on these blocks as a good distraction.
I'm going to spend some time on your blog this morning looking back at how you did your design wall. I finally get to do some things in my room today. The painters won't be back until Monday, and my sewing room is finished except for the floor trim in the closet!

Love those cheddar and blue blocks. It's fun and bright, yet clearly says fall. Enjoy playing with scraps and new blocks.

I like that little girl peaking out of that one block - good use of fussy cut - glad everyone keeps posting their yellow RSC it reminds me I need to get that one done - I keep working on my hexies to get that top finished but will need to take a break this week to get the yellow pieces out.

Love your yellows! Yellow is always so cheerful, even when it doesn't photograph exactly like you'd like. Love the little balloon girl, too!

I'm looking forward to seeing the zigzag quilt complete. Any idea how you'll quilt it? I haven't even looked at Carole's QAL for Autumn Jubilee. I need to finish some things before starting any more.

Well, thanks to you (or no thanks) I was inspired to pull out my cheddar and navy fabrics! A table runner is in my future.

Ooh, cheddar and dark blue! GREAT combination. And of course I love the zigzag. The tree just needs some evergreen companions. Thanks for the link to the quilt along.

Great color combination for those fun blocks. Don't rule out that tree yet until you see it with a few more blocks.

Thanks for linking up with Oh Scrap!

Definitely a cute little girl peeking out from the triangle. Your cheddar is a fun color. Wish the blue showed up as blue on my screen. It sounds like a great color combination.

I'm going to keep zig-zags in mind with my little squares now.
