Rainbow Progress

I'm on the way to another Rainbow Scrap Challenge finish with the color gradient block quilt top that I put together a few weeks ago.   This week I found some time to layer and spray baste it with batting and backing, and get the quilting started.

This brown block is a favorite with its fall colors!

These blocks are made with 2.5 inch squares, mini charms, and chunks cut from here and there.  I admit that I fussy cut a few pieces just to get the exact right bit of fabric!

For my September red blocks, I finished up all the HSTs for the zigzag quilt.

And the red section of double 4 patches, too!

Hope you've had a good week, too!  Linking up with SoScrappy for ScrapHappy Saturday and Quilting is more fun than Housework for Oh Scrap!

Looking Good! Love the first one with the gradient blocks. I'm thinking of doing this next year following your gradient pattern. I love your quilt!

Gradient quilts are my favorites. Yours is so pretty with that blue background. I think my favorite is that brown block too!
I think I asked you before what spray baste you use, and I can't find the email. Would you let me know again?

Looks like it was a good week for sewing, Diann. Especially, with some RED scraps thrown into the mix! :o))

Good Morning Diann, your gradient quilt is looking really nice. I love it that you did do a little fussy cutting for it - thanks for sharing those little gems!

I love your gradient blocks.I've always wanted to make a gradient quilt since I first saw some back in 2014 when I was a quilt angel for the first time, and spent a couple of hours "watching" a group of gradients of various colours and styles. Stupidly, I never thought of making mini gradient blocks so remained overwhelmed by the idea of sorting and arranging thousands of little squares. Thanks for pointing the way to a more manageable gradient.

lovely finishes - did you make that first one last year? I have got so many scrap boxes of fabric to use but never get around to sitting down long enough to use them all

Another project almost to the finish line. Good for you. The aqua works very well as sashing.

Your gradient blocks are simply wonderful. What a charming little quilt! And the diagonal line quilting is perfect (as is the sashing color). Super awesome in every regard!

I love your rainbow blocks with the aqua! (Bonnie Hunter used that same color as a border for q scrap quilt this week, and now I’m thinking aqua is a neutral!!) It’s so cheerful. Fun fussy cutting, too.

I'm liking what I see. The layout of your quilt creates a neat visual effect, along with that pretty border and sashing fabric. The fussy cutting is a pretty cool idea too!

It is so much fun seeing all the little surprises in your gradient blocks. This is why I love novelty fabrics (or, well, ALL fabrics!). And the zigzags and four patches are so cheerful and bright. Good luck on the quilting this week.

Very nice job on the gradient quilt. Feels good to be getting close to an RSC finish, doesn't it? Way to go finishing up your September Red blocks too.
