Quilty Orphan Adoption

***If you are visiting from "I Like Thursday," that post is HERE.***

When I saw that Cynthia at Quilting is more fun than Housework was hosting her Quilty Orphan Adoption again this month, I decided to join in and offer up a quilt top that is in need of finishing.

This is my Floral Sawtooth Stars top, finished a year ago!

Twenty 12 inch blocks, this quilt top measures 48 x 60.

I started this with the purpose in mind of playing with sawtooth star blocks that would feature the pretty florals of a fat quarter bundle of  Blush and Bloom that I won in a drawing quite awhile ago.

I always intended for it to be a donation quilt, and thought it might go to Covered in Love, sponsored by Kat and Cat quilts, or to Mercyful Quilts, sponsored by Bernie at Needle and Foot.

My only problem, shall we say, is getting it finished!  I love piecing blocks and making quilt tops, but I definitely have a back log of quilt tops waiting to be finished!

Are you a good finisher?  Maybe you'd like to take this pretty quilt top and get it to the quilted stage, and pass it on to an organization that could use it to comfort a person in need.

Let me know in the comments if you are interested in taking on this quilt top!   I am happy to ship it anywhere in the U.S., and will choose someone randomly from the comments next Wednesday, September 23rd.  Thanks for considering it!

I would love to finish this quilt. I donate to several different groups (Wrap A Smile, Quilts Beyond Borders, Quilts for Kids) and this is the perfect size. Thanks for passing this on.

I love this quilt and would enjoy finishing it, but I don't dare commit to more projects right now. I'll let someone else enjoy it instead.

I love this quilt, but have my hands full with the Lutheran World Relief donation quilts. If not for trying to come up with quilt backs to go with the 15 quilts in the works, I would SEW love to finish this for you, Diann!

I love this sweet quilt! I don't want my name in the running, just wanted to say how I love it! Hope it goes to a good home eventually.

I would love to finish this quilt for you. It would be used as a fundraiser for my village’s Fiber Arts Center. We’ve been working for a building for our longarm machine and classroom for over 5 years. Typically, our group sews over 300 quilts each year and donates them to various charities and causes in Mesa, AZ. This spring we sewed over 2000 masks and just gave them away to our residents on our village during 4 masks distributions. I lost count of my personal contribution after 200. My fellow quilters in my group have been steadily making progress on funding for a new building so we can be even more productive. kthurn@bektel.com

Such a pretty top, our quilt ministry would happily finish it and donate it. We make quilts for folks with chronic medical issues, those who have lost their home to fire, a local hospice organization and a children's camp that holds an annual auction to raise funds for scholarships, etc.

Diann, this top is gorgeous. I see you already have several offers to finish it, but I'll put my name into the ring as well. Although there are several local charities to which my local guilds donate quilts, I think you deserve to SEE this beauty that you started when it reaches its quilty glory. If you send it to me for quilting, I can either donate it locally (I have a children's charity in mind), but I would also be absolutely willing to finish this with long arm quilting and then ship it back to you so that you can see it completed and donate it to the charity of YOUR choosing! :-)

My favorite thing to do is finish off other people's work. (I am such a lazy piecework quilter). Love the colorway on the piece you've done. Please throw my name in the hat - tvonzalez@gmail.com
