To-Do Tuesday #40

Welcome, June!  It's definitely summer here - 96 degrees today (Monday)!  I appreciate my sewing room this time of year because it's in the basement, so it's nice and cool down there.  That helps me get things done!

On last week's list:

Finish up the May Color Challenge Block.  ✔

And get the Scrappy Sprouts and Sunflowers quilt basted for quilting.  ✔  Yay!  See my post about it here.

I've started the quilting and that's on the list to work on each day this coming week.  I'm quilting it in horizontal sections in between the green sashing strips and the stems.

It's time to pull out the pink scraps to make the June blocks for my Rainbow Scrap Challenge projects.  The first ones I always work on are the trees.

Two are made, six more to go!

I'm almost finished sewing together the rows for the hand-pieced QAL I've been participating in.  I'd like to get this done this week, and get it ready for hand quilting, too.

And last, but definitely not least, my book club meets next week, so it's time to finish up the book for our discussion!  We've been meeting through Zoom, and that has been a great way to get together.

Hope your June is getting off to a summery start!

And we are supposed to hit 91 today! Your title had me confused today, LOL But you had a good week of project progress.

I need to start thinking of pulling pink colors out for the 2 June blocks that I need to make for the RSC this month but I haven't had a lot of energy for anything right now! I can't even get into the book I am reading right now which surprises me as I usually like this author - I will check the book out that you show. Love how your quilting is coming along and the piecing too

Hi Diann! We are supposed to hit 94 today with high humidity. It just seems so early for this but there's not a thing you can do about it. I can't wait to see your sunflowers all quilted. It sounds like a great way to do it in horizontal sections. I am really looking forward to seeing the HQAL piece altogether. Any ideas on how you plan to quilt it? Thanks for linking up this week. ~smile~ Roseanne

You list sounds manageable. Good luck working thru it, Diann!

96 yikes. Too hot. Glad you are in the basement where it's cool. When it gets that hot here I can't sew at all (or cook for that matter). We've been back down in the 60's daytime and 40's nightime here the last few days.

I remember when I had a sewing room in the basement - nice and cool in the summer. I missed the beginning of the quilting of the Scrappy Sprouts! Love your setting of the Book Club.... I might have to add cornerstones to mine....

A book club meeting on Zoom sounds like a great idea! Everyone is being so creative with all this restrictive nonsense. I cannot wait till it is over with - tho I suspect it will be quite a while yet.

Enjoy the projects - looks like you are making progress on all sorts of things. I need to cut out the pieces for the June Color Challenge block. I am thrilled it doesn't have any HST's!! Simple pleasures.

We in the St. Louis area went to 93 yesterday. (Un)Luckily for me, I got to spent the day in the hospital's a/c with another appointment for my husband. Love your pink blocks. I need to pull my pink fabric out and get a start on my own!
