I Like Thursday # 189 - A Walk in the Woods

One day last week, Mike and I went for a hike up in Rocky Mountain National Park.  Want to come along?

It was so gorgeous and green up there!

The trail goes along the river.  I love the sound of water!

Lots of wildflowers, too!

Photo ops for my hubby - he loves that!

Amazing blue skies - until it clouded up and started raining on us!
Fortunately, we were headed back down by that point.

Lots of birds and butterflies.  We think this is a Pale Swallowtail.

Wait for me!

A nice escape.

With a glass of wine at the end!
(P.S. The fine print says you can take your mask off
 when you're seated at a table! 👍)

How did you escape this week?  I'm joining in with my Thursday friends at Not Afraid of Color for "I Like Thursday!"

Thanks for the lovely walk in the woods, love the photos. We are doing more hiking now too, it is so restorative to the soul to get out in nature.

how I wish I was there - those are the hikes Mike and I love too - same kind of trails I can just picture us there!

no escape for us sad to report. I know it felt good to be back in the park again. Glad Mike is recovering/recovered and you two are enjoying a glass of wine after a pretty day

Hi Diann! Thanks for taking us with you on your walk. I love that you could still have a glass of wine at the end and the sign Keep Calm and Mask On! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Thanks for sharing your adventure, Diann!! I love being out in nature. Especially, from the comforts of home, with no bugs or sunburn! :o))

Looks like a wonderful afternoon! My day off today - so the kids and I visited a sugar mill ruins about 50 minutes away and then went to a local outdoor zoo to see the manatees and birds on the springs/river. It felt good to get out.

Lovely hike. Looks like an awesome park. I couldn't hike because I had Bobbin with me when I drove through. Someday I will visit again, maybe then I will have a travel trailer or something and Bobbin and stay at a pet spa for the day.

An absolutely wonderful escape, Diann, for the two of you. Wildflowers are amazing and the Swallowtails are present here too. I think a little earlier than last year.

I always enjoyed hiking in CO. Never went on one that had a winery at the end though! Ha! I'll have to come back and find out where this is from you one day. Looks like you had a wonderful time. Nothing like enjoying Mother Nature to bring out the happiness inside a person!

I enjoyed the walk, thank you very much. Loved seeing that butterfly and all that sparkle sparkle on the water and the sunflowers. I even enjoyed the rain. :-)
