A Scrappy Rainbow Finish!

I had the whole day to myself on Wednesday, and a big list of "shoulds" on the to-do list.  I "should" dust, I "should" mop the kitchen floor, I "should" clean the refrigerator - you know, that list.   But guess what I did instead.  I finished Scrappy Sprouts and Sunflowers!  I'm so happy to be sharing this finish today!

48 x 60 inches

I quilted the sprouts blocks with straight vertical lines, used the wavy serpentine stitch in all the grass green areas, and stitched around each sunflower block at the top.

Along the way, I was trying to decide what I should use for binding.  Should I match the green? do something scrappy?  find something in my stash that would work?

Finally I choose this pretty dot fabric that I purchased recently from Bernie's shop, Needle and Foot Fine Fabrics.

"Floralish" - perfect!  It looks great with the green
and I like it all the way around.

The backing is the last of the wide backing I also bought from Bernie earlier this year, all about friendship.  This is the third quilt I've used this for on the back.

"A friend is one of the nicest things you can have,
and one of the best things you can be."

This best part about quilting a quilt myself is how much fun I have looking back on all the favorite scraps I used to make it.   I never could decide which block was my favorite, but I do love this center section.

How about those socks?!

I think these sprouts and sunflowers are destined to be hung somewhere in our house, but for now they're hanging from the top of our closet!

Thanks for following along as I worked on this lo-o-o-ng Work in Progress!

It looks great, such a happy looking quilt. Yes, it's taken a wee while, but then, some projects do, dont they. At least it doesn't date back 20 years like my recently assembled top does!

Clean the refrigerator or finish the scrappy Sprouts quilt? No contest. You definitely made the right choice and I love that backing fabric. This will brighten up any room you put it in.

I just love your quilt. As people have said before, it is a perfect spring/summer quilt.
I have tried to find the pattern but am having no luck. Does anyone have any information on where to buy this pattern.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
