Here are some orange trees for the Rainbow Jungle -
I'm going to keep using the inspiration fabric in the trees until I use it up, so it will be spread throughout the quilt!
And all the trees so far !
Sharing these at SoScrappy for ScrapHappy Saturday!
Meanwhile, I messed around with my crumb blocks some more and decided to enlarge them to 7 x 10.5, and add a 4 x 10.5 strip on one side for a 10 inch finished block. If you can believe it, I still have some of the gray Grunge left to use up! This project is going to be the last of it, I swear!
These blocks could go together like this -
Or like this -
Thank you to Cynthia Brunz at Quilting is More fun than Housework for the inspiration for these. Click on the link to her blog to see the quilt that gave me my idea!
My plan is to make enough of these 10 inch blocks for a small donation quilt! Sharing at Oh Scrap!
And finally, the binding is machine stitched on to Tiny Tuesday, so hand stitching it down will be my slow stitching project all weekend!
Sharing at Kathy's Quilts for Slow Sunday Stitching!
Have a wonderful weekend, friends!
Your tree jungle is looking great and I like that scrappy block! I just looked at Cynthia's and laughed that she started the quilt because she couldn't close her scrap drawers. :D I need to put my current squirrel aside and work on something orange. Love the peek at the backing of Tiny Tuesday.
The orange jungle trees are a great addition. I really had to dig to find orange as well. The grey grunge sets off your scrap chunks beautifully. Glad you are not out yet.
I have heard others say they do not have a lot of orange either. I need to look and see what I have I haven't started mine yet - I should do that today. I like your trees
Look at you getting all the things done!!! Can't wait to see the Tiny blocks all done and bound.
Oh how smart to meld orange and green right away--cutest little forest...hugs, Julierose
Love the tree blocks! The super scrappy blocks, too. Looking forward to a picture of your finished quilt.
Love the trees and that crumb quilt has lots of possibles.... Too funny on not being able to close the doors....I just buy more bins to put them in =(. Time to dig for orange. Happy stitching - binding is so fun to stitch down.
Seems like orange is a bit scarce for everyone. Your little trees are cute!
The trees! I’m in love with your blocks!!
I love your orange tree blocks, they look really good mixed in with the green (while my mix looked way too sixties retro). You've got some fun scrappy projects in the works, those crumb blocks are going to make a very nice donation quilt.
It is so much fun to see your tree blocks each month (even though we've only had 2 so far!) I'm doing some thinking on crumb blocks too. As always, you are inspiring me!
That Cynthia always has great ideas doesn't she! Your crumb blocks are going to be so fun to see how you decide to finish them up.
Your rainbow tree jungle isgoinb to bea amazing, it looks wonderful so far with just two colours!
(gasp) - Not much orange???!! How can you not have much orange?! (Says she who loves orange) Anyway, your blocks are lovely, all of them! You have been busy!
So many great scrappy blocks. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
Your trees are great, and will make an amazing quilt. It's good to see what you are doing with all your scraps.
The orange trees look great and the trees will make a fabulous quilt.
Lovely Scrap blocks too !
Great job! You've so got it all together ... for now anyway. Lol!!
the trees are so fun - but... I reall really am drawn to those scrappy slab blocks ( I have no idea what to call them) they are really great!
Looking forward to seeing your finished Tiny Tuesday quilt! Love the backing fabric!
Rainbow Jungle is the perfect name! It'll be amazing. And your crumb blocks are wonderful. I don't think there is a layout you can go wrong with. As for that grunge...isn't it funny how a fabric seems like it last forever no matter how much you use it?!
Great scrappy blocks! Rainbow Jungle is a great name!
Pretty forest, and cute crumb blocks!
Love your crumb blocks, Diann. THey especially appeal to me when they are made in the same color family.
(I think at this point that I might have more orange than any other color...)
I adore those trees of yours, and you've got my interest piqued with those crumb blocks - what fun quilts both those will be!
I really like that rainbow stair step design you've got on the design wall. I vote for that one!!
Love those trees. The orange fabrics really make everything pop.
Binding is my favorite! Enjoy! And your trees are marvelous!!! :)
Fun fantasy forest! Cute idea.
Diann, I think those trees are the cutest! It is just amazing to me how every time I really like something, it's usually a very simple design. Nothing complicated. Funny how that works.
