I Like Thursday #152

Welcome and thanks for visiting my weekly post of things I've liked!  So many different ones have caught my eye this week.

This, found on Facebook the other day -

Who knew?!  :)

The bushtits have been visiting our suet feeder this week.  We love seeing them and hearing the cheerful sounds they make!

They definitely hang out in groups!

Colorful cherry tomatoes from my wild and crazy plant -

used to make some tasty salsa!

Fresh everything - tomatoes, jalapenos, onion, and cilantro.
Yummy!

A new embroidery piece I'm working on - not from my Gail Pan book - but a cute one I saw on someone else's blog.  "When life gives you scraps, make quilts!"

Go HERE to "The Painted Quilt" to find this free download on her sidebar.
This blog is no longer active, but the quilter has generously left her patterns up for us.

And speaking of embroidery - this is a really good book!

Have you heard of it?  It is historical fiction, so based on a real historical event - the women who did all of the applique and embroidery on Queen Elizabeth's wedding gown in 1947.  Not much is really known about these women except that they worked for the man who actually designed the gown, but the author has done a great job of telling what could be their story!

A peaceful spot along the trail from a hike we did last week -

And "Cheers!" from me to you!  We enjoyed a picnic at our favorite winery in Estes Park after our hike.

Have a great Thursday!  Don't forget to check out the other positive Thursday posts at Not Afraid of Color!

Great likes. A quiet spot on a trail? Many places anymore that is hard to find.

That salsa looks SO good! Yes, yes, yes to the cilantro.
What a fun reward for your hike, although hiking where you live is a reward in itself. ;)

I hadn't thought of salsa to use up my cherry tomatoes. Thanks for the inspiration.

Hi Diann! What a wonderful picture of you! That salsa makes my mouth water, it looks so good. Great use of those end-of-season cherry tomatoes. We had the last of ours last night on the side of some grilled salmon. I hate to see them end. That books looks good - I'll have to look that one up. Happy Thursday to you! ~smile~ Roseanne

I admit I missed 9/19/19 by a few, but the time is marked. I like the quiet trail, the cherry tomato salsa, the birds, The Painted Quilt archives and, most of all, the beautiful smile. Thanks for sharing I Like Thursday withe me ... :)Pat

I saw Trisha Yearwood also make a salsa with her cherry tomatoes by cooking them and put them in a blender with herbs. I thought I needed my glasses fixed for reading wrong--bushtits? But, they're so cute.

Fun post to read, Diann! There's nothing better than fresh salsa (except maybe wine). I especially like that photo of you :-)

Good Morning Diann...just caught up on your posts. Call backs on mammograms are common in fact we are told here about that possibility right up front. Good thing to have done and behind you.
Just love this photo of you...enjoying the good life and looking so relaxed. What retirement is all about. Perhaps you are thinking about your lovely stitching that is waiting for you at home. I know sometimes I do that and mine is questionable, LOL. Did you happen to see my issue with consistency in the quarter circles for the dresdens?

What a nice picture of you, Diann! That salsa looks so good! I love seeing your embroidery projects. Birds can be so much fun to watch. I'm not sure I've ever seen the ones at your feeder.
