To-Do Tuesday #7

Good morning, friends!  It is Monday morning as I write this.  I'm at the Portland airport waiting to board the plane to head home from a lovely vacation.  A day or two ago, I was wandering a beautiful beach on the coast, something like this...

Now, of course, you know what I'm facing...

And this, too...

Thank you to Google for helping me to illustrate this week's To-Do list!

Meanwhile, since I've been away from my sewing machine for a week, I have lots I want to do in the sewing room.

  • Get caught up on my Tiny Tuesday blocks - last week's Bright Hopes block, seen here, and whatever comes out as this week's block.  I think I want to make one more of each color so that I have at least 6 each of 9 different colors, for 54 total Tiny Tuesday blocks.
  • Depending on October's color choice for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, I will definitely have other things I want to work on - string blocks, color gradient blocks, crumb blocks.
  • I want to cut out some pieces to stitch some hand-pieced pumpkins like Patty at Elm Street Quilts is sewing.  I wasn't able to get to that before we left town.
On our trip I started working on this sweet embroidery piece from my Gail Pan book.  I definitely want to make progress on it this week!

The variegated blue floss is so soothing to embroider with.
No decisions to be made, just stitch along!

That's it for my list this week - it remains to be seen what I actually accomplish beyond tackling that big pile of laundry!

Hope your week is getting off to a great start!  Sharing my list at Home Sewn by Us.

I love that picture of you on the beach! I know you will be zooming through life's chores to get to your sewing room. Those pumpkins of Patty's are really cute. Did you take any stitching projects on your trip?

I'd like to be walking alongside you on that beach, talking all things quilty and whatnot. Glad you had a good trip; hope you have the household tasks done quickly. You have some good projects lined up!

Hi Diann! Love the variegated thread - it makes for fun surprises as the colors change. The photo of you walking on the beach looks so peaceful. Awww. I wish I had some of that in my life right now. I know it was hard to leave that behind. And groceries, laundry - no fun but they are patient as well. They'll wait until you feel like tackling them. It's more important to get back into that sewing room, right?! Except for those tasks looming over your head. Thanks for linking up today! ~smile~ Roseanne

LOL yes, laundry and shopping are in your near future! I was walking along the west coast beaches back in June. Lovely! Looks like you enjoyed your trip. Enjoy your sewing plans and progress this week!

Hope you make it safely home! So wonderful to get away and enjoy things. I wish I had found a way to make it to a beach when I was in Washington State, but since it was January, I am not sure how nice it would have been. LOL

Your vacation looked like a lot of fun. Hopefully at this point mount laundry has been worked down to a mole hill and you've been able to get reacquainted with your sewing room.

I've never embroidered with variegated thread. What a great idea!
