I Like Thursday #127 -

Good morning, friends!  Spring comes to life slowly in our neck of the woods, but it's starting!  Here's how my daffodils look so far.

I have buds!

This week brought my group's first golf game of the year.  It's not green yet - still what you might call winter golf conditions - but the weather was nice and the company was fun!  (I won't tell you about my golf game just yet...:)

This was what my cellphone camera saw - my eyes saw golf carts across the way and mountains in the distance.  Lots of geese were hanging out on this pond, too.

I liked this view of my design wall Monday morning.

On the left are my hand-pieced blocks with sashing and cornerstones being auditioned.  On the right is a small quilt I'm putting together for the Hands to Help quilt drive.  The blocks are made from Cluck, Cluck Sew's Easy Stack, Cut, and Sew tutorial.

I enjoyed hanging up some of the mini quilts I've made over the last few years in this corner of my sewing room.  It makes it a much more fun corner of the room!

I'm continuing to enjoy hand-piecing!  Along with sewing the QAL blocks into a mini quilt this week, I've been working on another Dresden sunflower.

Here are the pieces and parts, partially sewn together.

I loved this cute display at our local Ace Hardware store, so I had to snap a picture of it!

Hope you're having a great week!  Be sure to visit all the "I Like Thursday" posts over at Not Afraid of Color!

It has been 100 years since I played golf! What a great view you have.
I love seeing your sewing room walls fill up with beauty.
Isn't it amazing what cute stuff can be found in Ace Hardware? :D

I love your wall of little quilts - like that pineapple. Here I drive past a golf course almost every day on my way to the fitness center I go to and people are out almost every day of the year - I think the only days I see no one is of course in thunderstorms or if it is below 32 degrees or so - they play all winter long. I never really learned more than mini golf and not good at it

Hi Diann! I love your collection of mini quilts hanging in your sewing room. I think we need to make a few to hang up ourselves. They look so nice and cheery. And golf already?! No greens per se, but didn't it feel good to just get out there for the fresh air and sunshine?! ~smile~ Roseanne

lucky you to see the daffodils popping up! Nothing growing here yet. I love seeing the yellow dresdens! I love that block so much in any form actually, a happy block. Your design wall looks so inviting... just one more block please!

Wow, you already have buds on your daffodils. Ours are up but I've not seen any buds. May have to get out there and look again now. Beautiful view from the golf course and such a pretty sunflower you've started. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Thursday, Diann! LOVE what you have up on your design wall! Especially the blue quilt on the left. Yum! I need to follow your lead and get some happy mini quilts up on the wall. I think I only have one right now. I'm participating in a swap so I know I'll have one more very soon!

Before I forget, Diann, is your sunflower Dresden from a particular pattern? I love it especially with those pretty fabrics.
You have the best sewing room walls. You've made such beautiful things and how nice to see them displayed.
Both your WIP's are coming along beautifully too.
I would celebrate buds too!! If only but a layer of snow still in my garden. However, it is melting.

Fun post! What happens on the golf course, stays on the golf course!

Love your corner of minis. Your handpieced blocks are gorgeous too. I have daffodils working their way up, but today was the first day it was kind of warm.

I like what's on your design wall - those boxy blocks are cool. I like your mini quilts and your dresden sunflower. That will be beautiful when it's done.

Your mini's group together is a great idea. I need to do that. I bet you can't wait for those daffodils! That H2H quilt is sweet. I can't believe your handsewing-that Dresden is perfect. Enjoy! mary
