A third sunflower was stitched up to go with the Scrappy Sprouts - the last one on the right is the new one.
And a new Tiny Rails block in yellow was completed, too. Again, the one on the right is the new one that I'm adding to all the blocks made so far.
When Angela posted this week's Tiny Tuesday block, I thought of all the orange peels I made when I was participating in the Quilty 365 project a few years back. I had to abandon the project, but planned to use up all the blocks I made in other projects. So I looked in the pile and sure enough, there was a yellow one that I could use for my TT block!
I made this one by sewing it right sides together with some fusible interfacing, trimming a bit out of the center, and then turning it so that right sides were out. Then it is ironed on the background which helps it to stay put until it can be appliqued down.
And here is the finished block!
Hope you've had a great week finishing up your yellow blocks! I'm linking up with SoScrappy for ScrapHappy Saturday!

Love your sprouts with sunflowers! I haven't even picked fabric for my lemon peel. GW has taken over my life, but I did put it back in the box yesterday afternoon.
Your sunflowers are really moving along - so cute. I am loving that applique method - I'll have to try it!
I have seen the orange peels and other applique pieces done like that - how did you like it - it seems easy enough to do. Love the flowers!
Nice work!
there is lots of love in all those sprouts and sunflowers. Your TT melon is perfect.
I do love all your projects, but the sunflowers make my heart sing! Just what we need right now.
Cute orange/lemon peel! Don’t you love it when the Parts Department comes to the rescue?? How many more sunflowers do you need to make?
Those yellow sunflowers are so fun, and look like sunshine (and warmth). I like that orange peel method; I think it works well. Love it when I find something in my stash that gets my block done fast. Makes me feel uber organized or something. Haha!
I tried doing some orange peels that way but the edges seemed so thick that I thought it would be hard to sew the seams when joining the blocks. Then I tried the starch and turn under the edges, and finally abandoned the whole project. I love your sunflowers with the scrappy sprouts which are on my someday list.

Well, that looks like a fun way to do appliqué!
Glad your orange peel found a new home! I love it when I find a use for something I've saved for ages. Your sunflowers are fabulous!
Your sunflowers are so bright and cheerful! (Oh, for a real sunflower right about now - is it spring yet???)
Oh! I haven't tried that method of applique. Knowing me, I'd get SOMETHING sewn the wrong direction!! LOL! May be worth attempting it, though. Thanks for sharing!
I am drooling over all the flavors of lemon in your blocks. Love the sunflowers.
Oh your yellow sunflowers with your sprouts! Be still my heart.
Your Dresden blocks look great over your sprout blocks. Come on spring!
