Here's what I came up with:
I laid a few 2.5 inch squares and 2.5 x 4.5 inch rectangles into a sort of scrappy Garlic Knot block.
It's been great weather here at my mom's house in Arizona, so I was able to take my stitching outside!
When you're working with just squares and rectangles, the seams on the back are easy to figure out.
So here's my take on a scrappy green hand-pieced Garlic Knot!
I can see this becoming a long-term slow-stitching project...
Hope you've enjoyed some green stitching this week!

Where there's a will ...
What a fun block. So glad that you were able to sew while away from your machine. Forward progress always feels good.
is that one a Bonnie Hunter pattern? I know I have heard of the Garlic Knot and thought of making that one - it turned out really well. I would love to be able to sit and stitch outside - of course as soon as it gets warm enough I will have to get the can of Off Spray to be my companion as the bugs will come with the warm weather with as much rain we have had all winter. When you head back to Colorado please watch out for all those avalanches I have been hearing so much abbout
I love that block! How fun that you get to stitch outside. I need to rummage through my greens and make a quilt for a gift for next month, so thanks for the inspiration. ;)
wow - old school quilting. What a treat to see
now that looks very satisfying... sewing outside in nature, enjoying the air and birdsounds. I like the pic of the pressing order... thanks for that.
I’m so happy to hear you’re having nice weather in AZ! What a satisfying make your block is! Garlic knots are a new RSC project for me too!
Very cute!
Your hand stitching is so neat and precise. Your block is so flat. Wonderful. How nice that you could sit outside to stitch. Looking forward to warm weather for sitting on my garden swing to slow stitch... :) Pat
Slow stitching and vacationing in warm weather - sounds like a great combo to me!
A great project! I enjoyed seeing your sewing table and all your tools at the ready!
Thanks for linking up!
I'm so impressed with your hand stitching and those seams...are gorgeous! I am so ready for spring and warm weather! Can't wait to sit on the deck and soak up some warmth!
Hand stitching is great! Pretty block
