I Like Thursday #109 - Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, friends!

We are on our annual turkey road trip to visit our kids over the long weekend.  I am planning to enjoy good food, good conversation, lots of games to play, and possibly even a little football or a movie.

But first, I am thankful for good traveling weather!

That's always important when you're driving across the eastern plains of Colorado at this time of year!

You know we are always on the lookout for wild turkeys when we are out and about, and look what we found!

Wow!  We counted at least 20 of them!

Earlier this week, I enjoyed having the chance to give back in a small way.

It was a beautiful day, and King Soopers was BUSY!  I guess that's what happens during Thanksgiving week.  Our red kettle was full when our shift was over at 11:00. People were so generous!

I like having this sweet embroidery to work on in the evenings, and the fact that it is easy to travel with means I might put a few stitches in it while we are with our kids.

Hope you're enjoying your day, whether it is spent in a small group or large!  I'm thankful for all of you, my friends in real life and my quilty blogger friends.

Enjoy your trip. Happy Thanksgiving and how great that you shook your bell with the red kettle.

So glad you will have good travel weather. We had a beautiful and easy trip to Conway Arkansas yesterday -- 9 hours with 3 stops. Troopers were out on the Interstate about every 25 miles so everyone was behaving. Have a blessed day with your family.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! I was feeding Clarence (our wild turkey pet) just a few minutes ago, and he is happy to be walking around today, LOL!!

glad the weather was so nice for you I know that is not always the case. It has been ages since we had wild turkeys in our yard, for awhile they were in the yard every fall to the point that one Thanksgiving our son in law asked if I wanted an extra turkey for the meal as said he could practically open the window and grab one LOL -- now we mainly see them when we travel.
I had not seen the Red Kettle outside of the stores here but I'm sure they will be out the next time I go shopping.

Wow, Diann, you're way warmer than we are (western NY). It was 9 degrees when I got up this morning and the high reached about 21. It's been much too cold, too early. Hope you have a good visit with the "kids". Happy Thanksgiving.

ah, the little moments. Love your redwork. Oh, look at that weather! Warmer than we are in New England. Enjoy your trip!
