A friend and I met for a couple hours on Thursday to sew all the heart blocks into a table runner for our quilt group friend who needs a little love. I'm so happy with how it's coming along! It's fun to sew with a friend - I don't do it often enough. It is also a bit challenging to sew up other people's blocks that may not be exactly the size we specified. (Wink!) But our quilty math worked out and all is good!
I did finish the gray sashing and 2 inch border around my Squared Away project. I am really happy with the gray!
Then , while hunting around in my stash, I came across just enough of this marbled blue to use for the next border which will be 4.5 inches.
I'm liking this, too!
I probably won't make much more progress on this or my other Rainbow Scrap Challenge projects until later in the month, but I'll enjoy getting back to them as soon as I can!
Be sure to check out the RSC quilters over at SoScrappy for the ScrapHappy Saturday link-up.

Great projects! I'll bet your friend does feel the love with the heart runner.
I discovered from things you have mentioned that we both live in the same city in Colorado! I wanted to send you an e-mail but do not see your e-mail address anywhere on your blog.
I think that is so wonderful you and your friends are making the hearts to warm the heart of the one in need. Love that blue for the border! Do you know how you will quilt it?
The heart table runner is adorable. What good friends you are!
I like your squared away quilt. The gray is just right and the next blue will be beautiful!
your friend will like the heart table runner I bet and be touched y'all made it. The sampler with the gray and then the blue looks great.
Your sampler quilt is looking better and better with each new layer! Good job on getting all those hearts to beat in synch :)
Congratulations! Your Squared Away quilt looks awesome. Love the blue for a border, too.
Great projects and I love when I find something stash shopping. But there are times I get frustrated because I don't have the right thing. Oh well I guess it means stash enhancement trip.
Oh yeah, I really like the gray sashing/borders on the Squared Away quilt and I think it's going to help that blue outer border just "POP".
Stash enhancement trip.... I like that!! I usually let my fingers do the shopping, though. - across the internet :). My favorite LQS just moved to another town... not that far away, but far enough that I can't just run down and get what I need/want.
Lovely table runner, nice to sew with friends! Love your scrappy quilt too
Your group heart project looks good. I can relate to the "joys" of putting together blocks made by a group. I did it last year and swore I'd never do it again, but it was a larger quilt than your runner. Good job. I'm sure it will be a comfort to your friend. Love the blue outer border on the sampler. Mine will be waiting awhile longer to get to a finish.

So neat that you are making the heart quilt for a friend. Quilting with friends is one of the joys of this craft, and I don't do it enough either. Your Squared Away quilt is so pretty, and that blue border really adds a nice touch!
I like your idea for a double border; it will give the extra width as well as looking good.
Your friend is going to feel so loved when she receives this sweet table runner!
Love the soft gray that you chose for your sampler; it is coming along beautifully!
Your hearts are a lovely (and loving) gift!
And what a lucky find that blue was! I love it when the perfect thing is sitting right in the stash!
It's perfect!!!
Your squared away blocks are coming together so nicely. How wonderful to find the perfect border right there in your stash :)
Love that blue border!
Wow, the Squared Away quilt top looks amazing with the gray and blue! And the heart table runner is such a thoughtful gift for your Quilty friend. Way to go, Diann!!
Your projects are beautiful!
That gray sashing really sets off the blocks. I really like it.
