I Like Thursday #107

Happy Thursday to everyone!  I hope your week is going well!  I'm joining in with the weekly party over at Not Afraid of Color and looking forward to seeing what everyone has to share this week.

I am really thankful to have had the right and the opportunity to vote this week!

I'm happy that some of the candidates and issues that I supported were successful this year.  I'm also really thankful to be done with all those yucky election commercials on TV and radio, as well as the junk mail and phone calls!

I really like trying new blocks and patterns, so I've  had fun playing with fabric and thread in my sewing room this week.

I bet you can't guess what this is! (wink!)  More about him later!

I liked stitching another redwork design from Gail Pan's Christmas Patchwork Loves Embroidery book.

So simple and enjoyable to work on!

I've also been making these blocks, a few at a time.

I have had a layer cake of Bonnie and Camille's "Hello, Darling" in my stash for a long time, and have broken into it more than once when I needed a certain color for a project, but I'm sure there are enough 10 inch squares left to make a baby quilt.  I'm using this tutorial from Cluck Cluck Sew to make the blocks.  "Easy Stack, Cut and Sew Blocks" in red, turquoise, and lime green!

I like learning new skills so I'm planning to participate in Elm Street Quilts' hand piecing quilt along, starting in January.

Check out Patty's blog HERE for more info - she's already had a couple of posts with helpful info in them.

I even have a couple of fat quarter bundles set aside for this QAL!

I guess I'll go sew!  :)

yes for the ads to be done for voting! I was lucky and gone for most of it in the camper - we do not have a tv in it by choice - (we use our ipads and watch netflix) I was so glad to miss most of it - the ads are mostly lies anyhow or embellishments and not the kind of embellishments I like LOL -- I am very glad we have the opportunity to vote

good morning Diann, you gave us so many things to go look at and join! I like all the quilt ideas and your clever VOTE sign.

LOL - I like your google diagnosis.

The google diagnosis is the best!!! And I second the being grateful for the ability to vote and the fact that the elections are over!

Oh goodness...I need the same diagnosis! Thank goodness the elections are over and we can return to normal. I like your embroidery...I need to find her book too.

I do love that book and am looking for it online (cheap if possible!) I love the red, turquoise, and lime green together. I am also planning to participate in the hand-quilting QAL but haven't picked out any fabrics yet.

I'm going to participate in the hand-piecing QAL, as well. I did a lot of hand piecing when I first started quilting and I really enjoyed it.

Awe your turkey is great. I have a Turkey pattern somewhere very similar. Great fabric pulls.

I really like the red tree inside the Christmas bulb! Yes, I do think one thing every one of us can agree on is being happy to vote AND being happy when all the ads and campaigning stops. Happy Friday!
