I Like Thursday #103 - Wandering, Pt. 2

Happy Thursday, friends! Hope you've been having a great week.  We arrived back home from our West Coast trip on Monday evening.  I love going, but I also love coming home, although I will admit to needing a bit of time to adjust to the laundry, grocery shopping, and return to cooking that is required!

A few more things to share that we liked from our trip out to the Bay Area. (Hope you don't mind a picture heavy post!)

Waves!  Really big and noisy ones!

Interesting birds along the shore - many different kinds!  Can you see the long beak?  The bird on the right had his pushed all the way down into the sand.  I wonder what sandy creature he was after?!

A winery cat!  Very friendly, and also very interested in our picnic lunch!

There was a Trader Joe's near our hotel that we walked by every day, and I remembered Sandra of mmmquilts recommending these tasty treats, so when I saw them there I had to try them.  Let's just say it's a good thing there isn't a Trader Joe's near my home!

I liked having my hexie project along with me, although I only sewed on them a little bit.  I realized that the hotel rooms we were in didn't have a comfy seat for sewing in that I'm used to at home.

B.a.r.t.  (Bay Area Rapid Transit) or the subway!
Cable cars

A boat ride
Trolley

We enjoy riding any kind of mass transit when we're in a big city and we spent one day in San Francisco doing just that!

The big red and white boat took us for a cruise around the San Francisco Bay, and under the Golden Gate Bridge, which we had never done before and really enjoyed.

Mike loves the Golden Gate Bridge and we have seen it from many different spots, photographed it from many angles, and of course, driven over it.

But this experience was pretty neat!

Thanks for visiting today!  Don't forget to check out the I Like Thursday bloggers over at Not Afraid of Color!

So glad you had such a fun trip! I love the winery cat- he looks like he's about to make friends. And I too love trader joe's treats. My favorite used to be their chocolate orange sticks but they don't have those anymore. I have to resist going by the one in our city- at least it isn't someplace I drive past routinely!

Hi Diann! Wow - beautiful pictures you are sharing with us today. Yum - those TJ dark chocolate peanut butter cups look and sound delicious! I could sit and watch the waves hit the stones and shore for hours. What a friendly kitty cat at the winery - I'll bet he gets lots of attention that way. ~smile~ Roseanne

What a great trip in my favorite city. Thanks for sharing such great photos. I can almost smell and taste the food we had on Fisherman's Wharf.
