A New Zipper Pouch

I love zipper pouches, and I have lots of them, which I use for lots of different purposes, especially when travelling.  Every now and then I just get the urge to make a new one, and that's just what I did not too long ago!

I had a mini charm pack of Early Bird by Kate Spain in my stash, given to me by Cynthia when we met up in Oregon, which was already a year ago!

Early Bird has such fun prints!  This one is a favorite of mine  -

I decided to pick 32 of the mini charms and sew them into a panel.

I added strips of a peachy - orange solid on either side to make the panel wide enough for a zipper pouch, layered it up with a chunk of batting and backing, and did some simple quilting to hold all the layers together.

Jenny, at Missouri Star Quilt Company, has a great tutorial for making a zipper pouch with tabs, which I need to follow every time I make a pouch, just in case I've forgotten how, lol!

After boxing the bottom so my pouch would stand up, here is how it turned out.

It's working perfectly for keeping all my cords and chargers in one place!

 Hope you're enjoying your Sunday!

Now there is something I need to make for my cords when putting them into the car or camper! I also saw one time a mat that rolls up for the cords. Ok I stopped to do a search and found it https://www.liveitloveitmakeit.com/2014/09/makers-month-make-it-cable-cozy.html Anyway I like your cute pouch:)

What a cute bag! I made several smaller bags for my charging cords. Your new bag makes me want to make another to hold those. Ugh... I really don't NEED another project right now!!!

I just love this zipper pouch! The way you added the solid for the sides is very cool! I've made a few pouches in my day...and always have to revisit whatever tutorial I use for reference too! The memory ain't what it use to be!!

I love to make zippy pouches and I've done enough of the MSQC pouches that I can do it from memory, but I keep the video close by, just in case! Haha. Using mini charms is a great idea! I have a few mini charm packs so I might have to give that a try.

You can never have too many pouches! I need to make one of those for my chargers, too - thanks for the nudge!

That is a perfect way to highlight those little squares. Looks lovely and useful too. They make great instant gifts.

Love the mini charms, it really turned out cute! I was just thinking yesterday about making all the girls/women in our family a zipper pouch for Christmas. I love Jenny's tutorials and will bookmark that one.

Great job on the pouch Diann! That is one thing I have not attempted yet. I really should learn as they would be a great way to use up scraps and a good source of gifts to give. i like the fabrics you used too.
