I am doing lots of "adulting" this week, and it takes up valuable sewing time! Monday morning was my yearly Wellness exam with the doctor. Even though it was only scheduled for 30 minutes it felt like it took up the whole morning! In the afternoon I went to my book club discussion group which is purely for pleasure, but, no time for sewing! Then today (Tuesday) groceries were needed and I spent a bunch of time on the phone scheduling a mammogram and a bone density test. Tomorrow I get to go for a blood draw and get a haircut. Somewhere in there I need to visit my mom!
So, what's a quilter to do when there's not much sewing machine time? I popped in to my LQS and did a little stash enhancement! It's time to work on a Christmas gift project for my quilt group gift exchange. I have a plan for it, but needed some holiday fabric. Here's what I came home with:

You are staying super busy with all of the chores and doctor's visits. I wish you the best. I did the same today- doctor', grocery shopping and such. It does take away stitching time. But how lucky are you to make a stash enhancement. Love seeing the zipper blocks. Enjoy spending time with your mom when you visit. Hugs
I have made the cookie crumb catcher...fun pattern! A blogging friend saw my post, and made a couple as well. She made her version with InsulBright to use as hot pads if she wanted and to protect table surfaces. I thought that was a great idea! :)
Nice fabric selection. I ordered several pre-cuts yesterday from Connecting Threads, as if I need anything.
A little retail therapy is a good thing!
I hate appointment weeks, I recently finished mine. Looking forward to seeing what you make with your new stash enhancement;)
Those adulting activities do get in the way of our crafting time, but they are truly necessary. You found some pretty Christmas fabrics and I like the blue dots you selected for the binding on your zipper quilt. The cookie crumb catcher with a plate of cookies is a super gift idea.
Interesting isn't it how we look at appointments and grocery shopping as intrusions on our sewing time! I like how you were able to trim your Zipper quilt while you were on hold!!!
Appointment weeks are so much work and time away from the important stuff. I like your therapy - lol! That crumb catcher is so cute! Thanks for the link, I really want to make one. Love your choice for the binding!
Look at you! Rocking that Adulting Thing!!Good to get all that out of the way! I finished up at the dentist this AM, my nose is still numb, but it went well!! That’s a great gift idea!!
Cute fabric acquisition, Diann!!! Cool plans for it, too! Thanks for sharing the pattern!
