- a Table Scraps project! I got started on this project when I was digging around in my crumb box and pulled out both dark and light green blocks that I had made sometime while working with green scraps. Since this month's challenge is to incorporate trees into your project, but any choice of color, I decided to make flying geese blocks out of the crumbs.
Look - penguins!
After making the trees, I had to laugh when I saw that the penguins ended up upside down!
So this turned into the Wonky Woods! I added some checkerboard blocks in green and strips of a star print to the trees to get the size I wanted, about 12.5 x 16.5.
It was fun to play a little bit with the quilting in the trees. I can do some gentle curves from point to point without too much trouble!
And here is where this latest Table Scraps Challenge fits perfectly!
Thanks, as always, to Joy at the Joyful Quilter for the fun monthly challenges!

Welch ein schönes Tischset. Toll, wie du die Pinguine doch noch zum stehen gebracht hast. Ganz wunderbar.
Hab einen schönen Tag

Great, it's so nice that you put the trees in opposite directions so that the penguins stand on their feet again... thank you for showing us from the beginning. I'm new to patching and quilting...it's so much fun...I'm currently sewing my first binding on my first quilt.
Many greetings to you and a thank you from Viola
Glad to see the penguins are no longer upside down! Gail at the cozy quilter
Such a fun project. It's hard not to smile at the thought of penguins hanging upside down in a tree. Love the way you made it work.
Love your little trees, especially with the penguins! A great way to kick off your holiday decorating!
How fun! Love that the penguins are 'right side up'.

Perfect for the holiday and quite cheerful. I love how you arranged this piece!
Very cute! And it looks so sweet on your side table. I love having a little quilt on my small side table too.
Very cute! It’s fun to have a fresh topper on your chair side table. I need to at least change mine out! Put Fall away and make way for Winter, like it or not!
Love your tree mat even if the penguins are upside down! :)

What a cute and clever make! I love how you’ve repurposed older blocks!
Penguins are cute, any which way! Well done on using up the older blocks!
Love it! And those penguins are the best! It's awesome how you were able to take those old blocks & make something cute & useful. Yay!
LOVE it!!!
What a cute little mat! Love the way you sorted out the upside down penguins! So sweet.
Wonderful what you can do with scraps and it fits the small table perfectly!
Your penguins are going to enjoy time in the forest! And nice to use up some of those greens.
I'd say you met and exceeded that challenge very well. You created a table topper perfect for this season.
Well how cute is this little table topper! And the penguin fabric just makes me smile. Well done. Hugs
