Is it late for last Halloween, or early for this year's? That's what happens when you start a quilt one year and don't finish it until the next! I pieced this quilt as part of Carole's Autumn Jubilee series which happens every October over at From My Carolina Home. You can see Carole's final quilt here. I started with this fun bundle of fabric:
I also added in a cream Grunge for a background and a black fabric with a faint white print on it, too.
I followed along with Carole's QAL last October, got the top pieced, and then it went into the "to-be-quilted" pile with the idea that I would finish it this summer.
And so I did! Here is Halloween Jubilee!
Carole's version had an outer border, but I stopped at the pieced border,
and am happy with it.
My Halloween Jubilee ended up measuring 36 inches square.
The quilting is a diagonal grid about every two inches. I used a darker gray Gutterman thread, hoping it would blend in with the black squares, but it still shows up and it turns out I like seeing the design in these blocks!
I had a great time piecing the backing out of leftovers from the front.
Binding is the black print.
When October rolls around, I'll display Halloween Jubilee on the table. It's a perfect fit!

I’d say you are just in time for this October!
Beautifully done! Love the accents of purple in the top. I'm looking forward to Autumn Jubilee 2022!
It looks fabulous!! Love it in Halloween fabrics!! Thank you for quilting along with Autumn Jubilee!
that is a nice table size and now you are ready for fall! It turned out great
What a perfect Halloween quilt! I love the colors you chose to enhance the fabrics! It's perfect for the Halloween season! Have a great day!
It was meant to be quilted for this Halloween so you have something new. It looks great on your table. Did you use up all of the fabric then by piecing the back?
I love just in time finishes! You will be able to enjoy your table topper to the fullest this season...I was thinking about leaving my patriotic decoration out until September 15th and then move right into Halloween!
Beautiful finish! I'd call it an early finish for this year =)
It's perfect! I have a new bundle of Halloweenish inspired fabrics, I need to find a pattern to use for them.
You did such a nice job on this one--that purple fabric really sparks it all together...great work congratulations on a lovely finish hugs, Julierose

It is a good thing that fabric doesn't go stale in a year or even five!!! A very happy finish, Diana. Enjoy your weekend.

That is a darling quilt. And of course it's finished early! Aren't Halloween quilts more fun since we've started using bright purples and greens in them?
Ooh I like this one. And, honestly I could see this in other colors too. October is beating down on us fast - congrats on being ahead of the calendar!
Never too late or early ;) Halloween Jubilee looks great on the table, and I too, love how the quilting lines show. Fun backing!
