Good morning and happy Tuesday! It's To-Do Tuesday at Texas Quilt Gal - thanks, Linda for hosting this fun link-up each week!
I think I said something in last week's post about staying on task (doesn't that sound like a retired teacher, lol!?) and not letting any squirrels in to the sewing room. Famous last words, right? Turns out, I caught a bit of the "start-itis" bug, and that resulted in a bunch of PFOs. That's "Partially Finished Objects!" I won't share the squirrels yet, until I get some other things done.
But... in the long run, I did make some progress on the things that were on my list!
- Crumb Hearts is about 75% quilted. Here a peek at the back - I decided to try a gentle curve going diagonally across in each direction, which turns into orange peels. And then it makes this great design!
- Another Covered in Love block is in progress - so Partially Finished!
- Son's tabletopper is sandwiched for quilting - also Partially Finished! 😎 This one needs a different thread color for quilting than Crumb Hearts, so I'll quilt it when the Hearts are done.
I did actually make some progress on those two "Coming Up" projects.
- The backing for Halloween Jubilee is sewn, and it will be next in the quilting queue after Crumb Hearts and son's tabletopper. See a photo of it in my Saturday post.
- Six of the Frostie embroideries are trimmed to size, with six more to go. I haven't found any sashing fabric yet - still looking around for that.
So, this week's list continues along the same theme:
- Finish quilting Crumb Hearts and get the binding on.
- Quilt son's tabletopper.
- Get started on orange blocks for August in the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.
- And if time, more work on Halloween Jubilee and the Frosties.
Lots to do!

Nice job on the quilting! I love quilting orange peels. I find them relaxing and they look pretty. I've got the Autumn Jubilee quilting percolating in the back of my mind. I have a large quilt to finish up first. Have a great week!
Orange peels quilting looks pretty perfect, Diann.
Squirrels are everywhere and they end up motivating us, don't they?
Have a great week!
Nice quilting, and good progress on your projects!
Those orange peels look great! Did you mark, or is that freehand? Well if you are having squirrel visits, I need to just look away when you post about them! Your blog is dangerous to me anyway even without squirrels. ;)
Thank you for joining my late post at To Do Tuesday! (I had it ready to go yesterday then forgot to schedule it.)
looks like you have some things to be busy on and still have time to toss in something else if you wish. Next year I am not doing near as many quilts to leave myself time to do smaller projects now and then if I wish.
I'm impressed with your quilting! Are your Frosties on a pure white background? I have a fabric you might like for the sashing. I'll send you a photo. (Do I have your email addy?)
I love how that quilting is looking! Are you using rulers or just freehand? That is a lot of projects to keep track of! Those frosty's remind me I need to print off mine so I can prep them for the car with some blue threads. Have a great day and good luck checking things off the list.
Look at you getting so much done. Fabulous. If you decide to buy fabric for frosties take a look at Connecting Threads. I bought a fat quarter bundle of reds last month. One was a diagonal line of red on white. If your interested I could send you a sample so you'd know whether it matches of not… the problem of buying online. I was happy, to have a group of mostly reds for my spider webs. Have a great week.
Oh, the orange peels are looking good! I really wanted to do some CiL blocks! But now I’m not sure! Time and energy are in short supply around here!
Looking forward to seeing your PFO’ :)
Nice quilting! And your Frosty embroidery is adorable! Good luck on all your PFOs.
I love the orange peel quilting! One I use a lot. Can't wait to see it done.
I had to giggle at your start-itis, we all have it don't we!! I ran across my 'frostie' blocks last week, but I'm just not ready yet to tackle them. It might be a winter project for me. Have a good week!
Hi,
Love your quilting...great job! I really like your
snowmen. You are responsible for a squirrel getting
loose in my sewing room. I'm going to make an alphabet
red work snowman quilt. I've been collecting snowmen
for awhile...so I should have plenty of them. Have
a great day!
Love the orange peel quilting. Want to try that sometime. Ah yes start - itis, very annoying and catching! I am really strictly talking to myself "do not start something new, you have too many tops now to quilt". But....even though squirrels don't exist here something does intrude!
Love that quilting. Walking foot or free motion?
I love your curvy diagonal quilting. I may have to borrow that quilting technique someday.
I'm late commenting, but I like that curvy quilting! Those little embroidered blocks are so pretty, too!
