Since I was already finished with the blocks I needed to make for purple month, I've spent some time this week moving a couple projects along closer to a finish.
One of them involved this purple fabric that I've had in my stash since last fall. Purple with bats!
Turns out it was the perfect inspiration for piecing a backing for my Halloween version of the Autumn Jubilee quilt top. Carole at From My Carolina Home hosted a QAL for this design last October, and I'm hoping to finish it up for this coming October.
Looks like I'm moving in the right direction!
Everything in the backing is leftover from the front!
Meanwhile, progress is being made on quilting Crumb Hearts! I would estimate that it's about 2/3 quilted, so maybe a finish by the end of next week? First I need to figure out a binding for it.

Isn't that a pretty purple, and it made a nice backing! Can't wait to see crumb hearts and the binding you choose.
Oh my I love how you pieced the backing for your Halloween quilt! I have lots of leftover pieces from when I trim gobs of runners and wall hangings. I am trying to do some pieced backings here and there in hopes of making that pile smaller:)
Love your Autumn Jubilee quilt in Halloween colors!!!
looks like you have made progress. This weekend it might be cleaning and organizing the sewing room for me before I jump into the orange color for August
Good job! You'll have a good Stashbuster report now too!
sew cute! and great job on the quilting! you're in the home stretch now!!!

Look at you! Getting the jump on your Halloween wall hanging! That bat fabric is perfect! And the pieced backing is great! Excited to see the finish of Crumb Hearts!
Sew creative backing. I like your Autumn Jubilee quilt. Those crumb hearts are darling!
At first I thought they were sharks. Yes, perfect backing for your little project. I have opened my purple scrap bin once and have done nothing. Seems like my interest in RSC wanes about this time every year.
You made a good job on that backing, Diann. It looks great.
Soon crumb hearts is finished. Looking forward to seeing this beauty finished. Happy internationa Friendship Day!!!
That's a neat backing. I need to be better about piecing my backings.
That's a great shade/tone of purple! The collage back is super.
Love how you used all the fabrics in the backing. That turned out to be a great top, perfect for October. Love the scrappy stars..... you are getting so close to a finish.
You are definitely moving in the right direction, with all your projects! That purple fabric is pretty!
Oh, I like the front and back of Autumn Jubilee. I also like the colors.
I've finished with my purples, so had to make a start on orange!
Your Halloween quilt is so pretty. It will fit with the season without screaming Halloween. Beautiful!
Love that Halloween quilt . . .especially the pieced back using up what you didn't use on the front! Wahoo that's a double win in my book! Way to go on quilting those crumb hearts. I look forward to seeing what you choose for the binding!
Great job getting that older top closer to a finish. Love what you did with the backing. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
You just find the neatest fabrics!! Love your finishes and close to finishes!
