Amazingly, since I've been away from home for 8 out of the last 14 days, I have orange progress to share for the end of September!
I was able to finish up my two hand-pieced Scrappy Trips blocks in orange during evening hand stitching times.
Brighter orange and pumpkin orange!
And a couple crumb hearts with a wonky star.
I sewed up the two orange chandelier blocks for the month, too.
Peachy, coral orange!
There are 18 of these blocks now, but they are small so I think I'll continue these into 2021 to get more. They'll be set on point, so a setting triangle fabric will be needed.
And then I was looking in project boxes one afternoon and found these blocks. They are made from Cynthia Brunz's Well-Suited Scrap Mixology module, found here. I think I must have started them a year ago!
They could be laid out like this ⬆️
Or
Like this! ⬇️
Tough choice! But I definitely need more of these 8.5 inch finished blocks to get a quilt. They're going on my end of September/beginning of October to-do list.

You did finish lots of block stitching while you were gone. Your Mixology blocks are really fun. The second setting is my favorite. Looking forward to seeing more of that project on your blog. Happy stitching this weekend.
I really like the first layout for those well suited blocks. Reminds me I too started one of her blocks.
Seeing your chandelier blocks makes me want to make some more! Don't you love Cynthia's Mixology?
I also like the first layout! Love the chandelier piece so far too! All your blocks are amazing!
Orange Scrappy Trips blocks are beautiful, Diann! You have made a lot of blocks this week. Crumb hearts blocks are a great idea to use up all those tiny crumbs. Have a wonderful weekend.
you have a lot of orange blocks - your collection of quilts is growing
Scrappy Trips, Mixology blocks, crumb hearts, chandelier blocks…. Oh my! You’ve outdone yourself on super scrappy orange blocks. I want to copy them all!! You’ve sure had a productive month, Diann.
Love those scrappy trips blocks and the crumb hearts !! You are an inspiration, Diann.
Lots of fun blocks, lots of fab orange fabrics! I need to be thinking about a block or two for RSC 22. Do you usually use the same background fabric on all your RSC blocks? I’m thinking seriously about the Mixology module
your sewing is always so clean and precise. I like the maverick stars so much, but it's all beautiful
Gorgeous orange blocks! And I love the mixology blocks. My favorite would be the second one, but either set would be terrific.
You got a lot done for being gone a week I have a lot of chandelier blocks done and should probably add the to my WIPs-B-Gone list, but it's getting awfully long already.
Pat
all your blocks are looking great!
Hi,
Love all your orange blocks...so pretty.
Have a great day@
Well, you know I love this post - all those gorgeous orange blocks!
How fun those mixology blocks are! I love the ones you can change around and make various settings. Pretty oranges you found to play with this month.
I like the mixology but haven't started it. yOUR oranges are great
Seeing your chandelier blocks reminds me I haven't finished my oranges for September yet! They are leader/enders for me and I do one for each week of the month. This is year 2, so I've got a close to 100 now.
Away from home, you still did lots of sewing. Just love those chandelier blocks, what size are they please?
You really made the most of your ORANGE scrap sewing time, Diann!!
Wow! You got a lot done and you got to go away and enjoy a well deserved holiday!
I bet it was good to be back in the sewing room, especially working with those pretty orange scraps. I like that first layout on Mixology, but they both look good. As always I love your chandelier blocks.
Just love that Set on Point effect.
I like the Mixology blocks set with hourglass fabrics in between. All you orange blocks look great too. Welcome home!
I love the first layout, but you never know until you get all the blocks finished! Everytime I see that chandelier block I fall in love with it all over again!
I love all your projects, but just an idea-- can you mix the chandelier blocks and the mixology blocks somehow to get a larger quilt? Plus, it would use up all the blocks at once! Have a good week!
When did you have time to sew all of these blocks?! I might have to make those heart blocks next year for RSC. Thanks for sharing with oh Scrap!
You did a great job of getting orange blocks made. I especially like the crumb heart blocks. I might have to think about making some chandelier blocks. Yours looks cool.
If you give me your Chandelier block size I can calculate your setting and corner triangles on EQ8. That's what I did for my Chandelier baby quilt. My blocks are 9" so my setting triangles are 14" cut in 4 pieces, my corners are 7-1/4 cut in two.
Love all the orange you got going!!
Your scrappy heart blocks are one of my favorites. Gosh, you finished so many this month! That is a tough decision regarding the mixology blocks. Both layouts are equally awesome!
Your blocks are lovely, and definitely impressive after being gone so much!
