Orange you on vacation?

Why, yes, I am!  And feeling lucky to finally be here, after pretty much staying home for the last two years.   We've been planning this awhile, but recently (with the surge in Covid cases in many places around the country), I wasn't sure we'd be able to go.  But we're masked up, and stocked up with plenty of hand sanitizer and bleach wipes, so off we went!

So how about a beautiful Oregon coast sunset in orange?

Or an amazing rose growing by our hotel in Depoe Bay.

Not the best picture, but you get the idea!

Clearly, there hasn't been much sewing going on around here the last few days.  But please check out my Wednesday post about "Botanics," my quilt from Kelly Young's new book, Scrappy Improv Quilting.  There was a little bit of orange and a lot of scraps involved there!

Instead we've been wandering the beaches of the Oregon Coast between Depoe Bay and Bandon, getting lots of steps on the step counters!

So beautiful, and hardly any people!

And every once in awhile there's a chance to put a few stitches into my current embroidery project, the Woolly Ewe.

Before long it will be time to go home and get back to normal, but until then I'll enjoy views like this one!

Have a great week, everyone!

glad you decided to take you vacation - when we went in June we decided we had to have a break then and thinks were looking brighter at that time. I brought a basket in the car that I placed hand sanitizers, wipes, masks - they got used. Sometimes then you didn't have to wear a mask as they were slowly going away - but as we all know it was too soon and we started to need this stuff all over the again - have fun anyway! we stayed away from crowded spaces and keep sanitizing

Glad you bit the bullet and took some time for yourselves. I love Oregon. Were you close to Bandon Dunes Golf Course?

I am also ready for a vacation time. Who is not?
I love the beach, and listen to the waves sound is so restful.
Enjoy your vacation, Diann, you deserve this special time.
And I love the sunset and the beach photos.

It really does rejuvenate oneself to have some get away relaxation time. So happy for you that you got to do this!

Good decision! Did you drive or fly? What a great way to relax with that view, the roses, "hardly any people", and hopefully some good meals. I bet that water is cold!

Glad you were able to get away. I love the Oregon coast. My brother and SIL invited me to go with them to Brookings, Oregon in 2017 for a week and it was wonderful. We visited 5 of the lighthouses, and had a great time. Hope you have a great week!
